Reading the the prize pool distribution of this tournament... The format is truly unique!
|
The prizepool is not only big, but also the duel system is really cool.
Good to see, that SC Boys will give us some fine Kespa vs Foreigner Starcraft action.

Chinese offical message (writen by XTeam.Xiaose): http://bbs.niuyou5.com/thread-2255756-1-1.html the third international invitee is Snute. Korean Qualifier = Open Non-Chinese Qualifier Chinese Qualifier including players from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan For example, Alopex should only participate in Korean Qualifier. Pigeon and CNProtoss should only participate in Chinese Qualifier.

We are still in talks with Snute but he is at DH right now so I didn't include that in the OP.
EDIT: Snute just confirmed his participation.

It's the alot of tournaments need to look at prize money. You shouldn't show up, play great games, actually win some and go home with nothing

Great to see this tournament back, Kungfucup always has a good mix of players and exciting matches.

dear whoever is responsible for kung fu cup... could you please consider making the group stages round robin instead of dual tourney? round robin is so much greater of a format and yet so rarely used

Awesome that you guys are back. I'd watch Kung Fu Cup over WCS Circuit any day of the week

Remember Naniwa's probe rush? Granted with this prize money system players have more incentive to play "meaningless games", but still, that creates more issues than it fixes.

TIME becomes the first Chinese invitee as the member of X-Team due to the victory against Ein.

The offical stream will broadcast spl first. Please wait for Chinese Qualifer #1. Thank you.

Full online cup?
How much gets the winner without dropping a map? My math says: 2x $456 + 2x $760 + $4256 + $1824 = $8512

Haven't seen him in LotV yet, but he improved a lot in late HotS. Problem being that TY is incredibly strong in TvT aswell.

That was an interesting attack. A single tank and medivac with 6 reapers. I wonder what he had planned.
|
Those initial reapers delayed that attack so much. Makes me think reapers might have utility in the mid game in TvT.

He is, he also hasn't lost a single TvT series in LotV yet. But he's also like 0-8 against INnoVation historically.

Watching the vod, and I heard the caster say that lack of Mauruader vs Ravager/roach was going to bite him.
Seriously, does this caster even watch any pro tvz's? Marine/Tank is the standard at high level play vs Ravager/Roach. Noone skilled goes Maurauders.

Bomber...what is that DT defense with 3CC with scans
|
Caught just half of that last game... Was Zest doing the DT build he used against Maru?
|
On February 05 2016 21:19 Silvana wrote: Caught just half of that last game... Was Zest doing the DT build he used against Maru? Not sure It's a waprism DT drop with additional warp in Bomber has 3 CC with scans and a E-bay ready but still lose a tons of SCV and units
|
I see Zest still in good form vs Terran so far.
|
He has to mix it up for the next tournament tho. I bet the next Terran will be well prepared against DT builds.
|
On February 05 2016 23:00 Silvana wrote: He has to mix it up for the next tournament tho. I bet the next Terran will be well prepared against DT builds. I think he only goes DTs when he sees he can do damage, and thankfully he generally doesn't do it on low economy so he can always fall back to something if they don't do a lot. But he does love his DTs right now, wow.
|
Well okay then, I guess PvT is a non-issue for Zest now. I'm fine with that.
E: Mutas look completely broken in ZvZ tbh

That's why it is not confirmed yet, technically they can play proleague on the 26th then fly in on the 27th, it's a two hour flight from Seoul to Shanghai afterall.

We might not be able to host the finals at WCS Shanghai event due to various schedule and commitment reasons, but we are still working on having some sort of KFC content at the event.
|
China6284 Posts
Updated the schedule in OP, basically due to WCS Circuit Shanghai KFC is being postponed into April due to all the qualifiers taking up time, especially Chinese qualifier being a full GPL season.

Liquid bias

On March 12 2016 02:08 Elentos wrote:How the fuck does this even happen every time? And how did group A dodge every Korean? Well, 4 groups, 5/16 is korean. if it is all random, odds to have a group without Korean is actually pretty high.
But honestly, for the entertainment factor, I don't mind the organizers do something to give foreigners a small edge.
