http://www.ufc.com/news/Zuffa-Statement-on-Cung-Le As someone who looks up to Cung, not only as a fighter but also as a person, I was hoping he'd be able to carry himself in a relatively clean slate. Sucks to hear this, and rather disappointed. Only thing to upset me more is if Akiyama, Stun Gun, Kang Kyung Ho, or Lim Hyun Gyu fails a drug test later on...

I'm not trying to defend Cung Le, but the UFC asked a 42 year old man who was spending most of his time making movies to be the face of the Asian marketing push. Cung Le just didn't have much of a reason to not take it. That was his last fight with or without this, and I don't think he would have fought again if the UFC didn't utilize him for marketing. Oh well. Doesn't change the fact that you try to win while basically breaking the rules. What I don't understand is they basically fight with the knowing risk that it could all be for nothing, since a loss with HGH makes it look pointless and a win with HGH tarnishes the win, and statistically makes it a no contest anyways.

The thing i don't get about using HGH or steroids or any other thing that makes you gain weight is this: it just makes it harder to make the weight category you belong in. and if HGH takes you into a higher weight category i think you're at a disadvantage with any guy who is naturally at the weight category you've moved up to. to be extreme: sure Jose Aldo can pull an Eddie Geurrero and get up to 250 lbs with HGH and 'roids. He'll never beat Cain Valezquez or any other natural heavyweight who fights clean.

They're there for insanely fast recovery, so you can fucking drill and practice day in an day out without any soreness. Try doing their training routine without HGH and Steroid, it's pretty much impossible without them.

Or the UFC would probably be willing to enforce them.

http://www.thestar.com/sports/2014/10/08/canadian_rory_macdonald_gets_ufc_title_shot.html its kinda bull that he gets that shot guaranteed in Canada. last time he was in his home province he drew 1.14 million at a PPV. so its not like this guy is some kind of big draw. it'll be interesting to see if its on a PPV and whether its montreal or toronto. its kinda bull that the challenger gets to fight in his home country...although Montreal and Toronto are not much like Northern BC. i heard some blab that the UFC is considering Saskatchewan if this event draws around a million in gate receipts Tom Wright's job will be on the line. he did a nice job with Halifax though.

For starters they don't fall under the WADA guidelines for testing for HGH, which is apparently a pretty hard test to run. I'm really interested in seeing how this turns out because if the lab did fuck up then the UFC needs to alter their self regulations outside of the US. While I don't think it matters much for Cungs fight career (think that was his last fight either way), i do think he could regain a chunk of his former respect if the UFC admits any mistake on behalf of the lab. Don't see why they wouldn't honor them. Or the UFC would probably be willing to enforce them. they don't even have the sample to retest lmao.
