The media in Finland totally over-hypes the guy as the "next Porzingis", although I must admit there are some similarities. Anohow, I wish all the best for the dude in the next NBA draft.

He didn't even celebrate his 22nd birthday and people are already putting "next " as a prefix to his name to define other players. Markkanen looks really impressive though.

the Thunder thoroughly outclassed the Raptors in every aspect of the game. it was really cool to be able to feel the flow of the game.

Markkanen seems like he has a more traditional inside game while Porzingis is a better outside shooter. I don't see the resemblance in their game.

A decade ago this week, Kobe Bryant scored 65, 50, 60, and 50 in four straight games with the Lakers going 4-0 game highlights + Show Spoiler + i always appreciated that when LA came to Toronto 1 time per year that Bryant always gave 100%. He was smart enough to figure out that a huge portion of the people at the game were there to see him and not the Raptors.. and he never disappointed. Kobe's flair for putting on a great show is prolly part of the reason why posts like this on reddit get thousands of upvotes. https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/5zuswk/a_decade_ago_this_week_kobe_bryant_scored_65_50/ as entertaining as Westbrook's performance was last night.. Kobe was even more fun to watch.

http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2017/3/16/14946368/suns-shut-down-eric-bledsoe-tank Lakers have 20 wins. Phoenix has 22 wins. Its a race for the #2 probability spot. the way the Lakers are shutting guys down and with how tough their schedule looks they could easily lose every game the rest of the year. So the Raptors offense is fucking crap all night long with Joseph, Wright and Vanvleet running it. They finally make Derozan the point guard.. and surprise. surprise... they cut through the Pistons defense like a hot knife through butter. Between Joseph, Wright and Vanvleet i'm not sure who is Curly, which one is Larry.. and who is Moe. Just make Derozan the starting point guard and call it a day.

Guy was a practice warrior, who even has complained about the AAU not teach proper form and so on. This seems like one of those times when you say something with authority, but really it is just made up in your head. try reading? shooting mechanics? where did i say shooting mechanics. LANDING MECHANICS. the 1-foot, heel-first landing puts anywhere from 10 to 50 times as much force on the knee and ankle as a 2 feet ball-of-the-foot landing. a ball of the foot landing allows the athlete to roll with the force and eventually cushion the shock across the entire surface of their 2 feet. 2 feet is always better than 1 foot. ALWAYS. heel first is always worse than a ball of the foot rolling to full foot landing. ALWAYS. end of story. go to any Sports Medicine Clinic and have your jump analyzed. this information is textbook, super-basic 101 stuff. if you'd like to continue this discussion let's do it in the health and fitness thread. because that is where the discussion belongs.

@jimmyj Miami looks like the 5th best team in the east. If Lowry doesn't came back strong, then they might even be the 4th.

Also, Carroll's right hand is thoroughly fucked and Toronto is just not discussing the injury. Notice Carroll is shooting 7% from 3-point range in the past month. Also notice that Carroll visibly winces when receiving hard passes with his right hand. If Carroll and Lowry come back fully healthy i think Miami takes Toronto in a close 6 or 7 game series. I really like Miami.. and i think James Johnson is awesome. He is a 250 lb Steve Nash ...with a giant tattoo on his neck. I thought Johnson got a bit of a raw deal in toronto and its nice to see the guy blossom as a player. NBA as a whole is shooting 50.17% on two-point field goals, the highest accuracy in history. Also attempting 58.4 2p FG/Game, fewest ever.
