They are very clearly entering a bit of a retooling phase and will likely take a step or two back next season. They’re still going to walk into the playoffs as a consequence of their decrepit division, but they are on the decline. It remains to be seen whether Brady is still around when they come out of it. They lost a lot this year but I think they've gotten better overall. Last year there were some huge injuries. Defense overall looks much better on paper than what was put out there in the Superbowl. Offense loses 3 very good pieces but I'm not worried at rb or wr. Left tackle is a gaping hole now though. Slater leaving might be inevitable, he was injured a ton last year and is in demand so they won't pay him. That's why bill already signed 2 special teamers

He has been a consistent captain of a reason, and I feel like there are some major locker room leadership pieces leaving. While the patriots are a team that have proven to succeed with anyone plugged into the system, something feels different about this offseason. Idk if it just because the Patriots are bordering on the end of the TB/BB era or something different. Felt the same way when bruschi, vrabel left. Ty law was a big locker room leader to lose, ninkovich last year. Happens every year, just hurts fans more some years. Plenty of leaders on that team with Hightower Brady gronk McCourty. Ebner is a respected guy on st. Patterson coming in for nothing helps. Hills contract is only 150k guaranteed btw. 1.5 mill possible if he hits all incentives. Dudes banking he can be great this year for pats and cash in next year.

Yeh Watson makes them a serious contender, that kid can play. They got really unlucky with injuries last season. If the key pieces stay healthy and Watson continues to develop they are a playoff team.

Jesus Christ. WR but yeah.

Yeah I'm an idiot XD As for the DPI changes, what defines "egregious"? How can they solidly prove that the defender was purposely causing interference or not? While in theory the change is great and will make DPI far less punishing, I feel there may be some incidents were refs see something as egregious when it's not. Also, jfc Josh Rosen has to have one of the most punchable faces I've seen in a while. Also he seems like cocky guy. Low-key hope he flames out, especially if he goes to the Jets

I’m not much of a fan of having rules to be left to interpretation rather than specifically defined

Should slow down some massive swings in momentum for teams that are mounting a comeback.
