if he's going to Korea i think it's reasonable to demand some skill from him. and i'm not talking about the NA ladder skill. no he dosent u arent his boss neither anyone here, he can do what ever he wants with his time cause its his life. he doesn't what? no i'm not his boss and i guess i could've rephrased my post. however i still don't see this trip could give him much since he's not as good as the others. there's a big gap and you guys need to realize that Dude, desrow is GM in two regions and thats with all the streaming and coaching every day as well. If anyone can learn fast from koreans then it would be desrow.
your last sentence simply doesn't make sense. there are numerous other people who would learn faster than desrow, in my opinion.
GM actually doesn't say anything. Code A (not to mention Code S) is far far above GM level. being GM is about laddering and things like endurance (?), not being good at the game. of course you have to be good at the game to be in GM but to play in Code A you have to be go-od.

Can't say I've always liked your play, but I can't hate on anybody willing to put up their own money to go to Korea for SC2. GL!

Wow, not gonna lie, this is the first nice thing I have ever heard you say. Well Played dood! Hopefully you can shake the rep that seems to follow you around as well.

Best of luck. You've shown dedication, and kept to it, hopefully you'll achieve what you want in Korea.

Good luck desrow! :D I hope you learn alot from your stay in Korea. Utilize all your tools you have while you are over there. IIRC there are alot of protosses in the gom house atm that you can definitely learn a thing or two from.

gogo! Good luck to you desrow!! ^_^

I believe that hard work will get you far and that bashing shouldnt happen but please dont think for a minute that talent does not exist. If this were true there everyone would be a professional athlete or whatever else. The fact is that natural talent does exist and some people are naturally better (their brains actually are better developed in certain areas) at certain things than others.
Does this mean that you can never achieve these things? No. Does this mean that more than likely other people will excel at them over you? Yes.
Regardless GL to desRow in korea and have fun.

Sure, and I applaud him for trying, but this is the wrong way to go about trying. Go to KR after you have some results of being a good NA pro. No reason you can't shouldn't prove that you can get to the 2nd step of the staircase before trying to jump to the 7th.
U mad?

Nice opportunity for desRow, but in general I feel it is just a waste of time and money. Yes Korea is a place where someone can boot camp hardcore and come out looking like a brand new player, but for someone of his caliber to take the trip is somewhat of a joke. He has very little to no results and I feel he hasn't hit the ceiling that he can in NA. I view this very much like someone who is debating on getting an EU or KR account while in NA. If you're not the tip top on the ladder you play right now, and still have trouble at mid-GM, there is no reason to upgrade to something even harder and hope that it makes improvement faster.
All in all, while it's nice to see some more foreigners head out to KR, I feel too many are beginning to jump the gun and see KR as a "Hyperbolic Time Chamber" (DBZ), they see people like HuK and Sase spend a fair amount of time in KR and come out as beasts. I feel it fills false hope into the players who just don't really have the skill cap to play at that level.

He is gonna need to improve rapidly fast in order to stay motivated. Good luck nonetheless

Sweeeet! This is awesome, much love for a Canadian brother Hope you do well out in Korea, I will be cheering you on buddy!
A message to all those saying "BLAH BLAH GET BETTER IN NA FIRST BLAH BLAH YOU AREN'T GOOD ENOUGH!": Clearly none of you have ever excelled at anything in your life nor have tried to in the proper fashion. Please stop reflecting your own shortcomings on others. Speaking from the point of view of someone who has excelled at things, and associated with many others that have, the best way to do so is to compete against those who are MUCH better than you. Not so much that you get stomped completely every time, but so much that the person/people are clearly better than you. It will make you pick up your game and just try that much harder to get better at what you are practising. And I don't think that all the Korean players are that much better than desrow that one could argue he will get completely stomped out there.

I can't help but wonder this is due to an extraordinary low marginal cost of sending him to Korea. I mean, think about it, with many Korean players already on roster, sending everyone's favourite teddy bear there is only going to cost you an airplane ticket.
Still what's the bashing about? It's never a BAD thing.
Edit: The cost to team is even lower with desRow himself contributing to the plane ticket and such. Why NOT? If I'm the team management, and I get a chance to improve the ability of one of the players without spending too much, I'd do it too!
