He'd better not go full foreigner or walk the path of night with all that dirty cash. Stay strong stephanoooo
Kinda sad for him that he is joining EG. Every good foreigner (Huk and ThorZaIN) left their team and now they are just PR representatives. He is so talented that he will still win but not as much as when he was in M.
Really hope that number is close to accurate; it would do everyone a huge favor to know how much a successful sc2 player makes for transparencies sake and to give people some perspective. Previous to this, there were ranges of between 30k to over 100k, a ridiculously large uncertainty gap. As for the number itself, I'm glad for him but not jealous at all. Sure you're getting about 100k a year to play a damn video game, but you're spending (or least ironically if you're any progamer besides stephano) more than 40 hours a week easy in your best years of your life developing a skill that is not very transferable to any other high paying job in a field that has an early retirement age with uncertain growth rates for the future. Strictly financially and health wise I'd probably pick a stable job that only makes say 50-60k, but hey, at the rate that sc is growing and the way he's capable of playing he could end up making way more in a relatively short time frame.

Didn't know you could predict the future. PR is a way of doing business, that's what seperates EG from other teams in being able to fund their players. Why not just blame the player's original team for not being able to run a business in other to get more revenue from their sponsors.
Well, no one's really surprised. And Stephano certainly deserves a big salary, as he's one hell of a great player. I'm glad that he's getting an opportunity to make more money. Personally, as EG's my favorite foreign team and I'm not a fan of Stephano, it makes me a bit sad that he ends up there, but oh well. Best of luck to EG and Stephano in the future

Do you seriously think what you wrote ? You think seriously that Millenium could not compete with potential offers from Gosu or Light ? Or I didn't catch the sarcasm (very possible :p )
I wish Stephano the best in his future team. He's a serious guy and I doubt he would be satisfied by just earning his (huge) salary. Good luck Ilyes !

lmao enough with this "EG" leading to players becoming bad. EG has nothign to do with the players falling off its the players own fault. If anything it would be that players may lose motivation when they've achieved what they wanted and getting a contract to bring in income for the year. Stephano has already proven that no money can quench his thirst or he would've stopped playing this year after breaking 100k in prize winnings and going back to school. No fear I have belief that stephano will continue his domination regardless of the team and we shall see him break the 250k mark in salary/prize money as the first foreigner to do so ^^

Just to pose a question (and I have no idea; but just a question) but think about it...maybe it ISN'T + earnings, steam revenue, etc. Just a thought. It's not unheard of by any means to give a player salary and everything else the team keeps. Just a thought .

no way the team can touch his stream revenue nor do they ahve any reason to plus its bad PR if a palyer comes out and saids EG steals there stream money
EG has tons of big hitting sponsors, they dont have to take a cut from the palyers the only teams that take a cut are the korean teams that need it to stay afloat

Really? That seems like a bad idea. Extra $$ incentive for big tourny wins seems like a good idea.
100k a year to play games...what a life *SIGH*. Especially when you seem gifted to play SC2 and you apparently don't have to practise as hard as other pro-gamers.

They have to do because of the high salary lol. They have the same salary no matter their results as long as they provide good PR, stream and stuff, therefore they fon't have to push themselves as hard as in other teams. It probably won't happen to Stephano because he will win no matter what, but still.
