OGN is a broadcasting network. they host the OSL (an individual tournament) and broadcast it. Proleague is a team tournament sponsored by SK Planet, a subsidiary of SKT. It is broadcast by OGN on cable TV. as for your question, why there isn't an english OGN website, it's because it's a korean cable channel. you wouldn't expect TNT or AMC (or their british equivalents) to have a korean website, so why would OGN have an english one? Thanks for the info, but I disagree. OGN runs OSL like you said. But TNT doesnt run any sport or e sport leagues. Many types of channels exist today with the goal of reaching out to international audiences and expanding their viewers. A good examples would international news channel such as CNN, France 24, BBC, CCTV, PRESS, Deli tv, RT, etc.. It is also noticeable that nowadays, many sports try to expand their market to a global reach, e.x. from F1 to Tennis grand slam to the traditional Olympic and the world cup. Even here in the UK, there are occasional midnight live sporting event from the US big 4. So I do not believed that a Korean channel that runs a major esport league should restricted itself to the korean market. Since kespa players nowadays do compete in non-kepsa governed league. Why the restriction of Kespa run league to korean only audiences? Beside, didnt Blizzard said it themselves that they wish to promote and grow esport? Moreover, I dont see how expensive it would be to run an english website to state some basic info on OGN's esport programs. Is like broadcasting the world cup but wont tell the koreans where to watch it or when to watch it. Furthermore, whats with the hostility from some members here regarding this topic. OGN and Kespa wont be running anything without the right granted by Blizzard. If anything. I also faulted Blizzard for not doing enough for e sport.

To "do stuff" for progaming, you need to get new viewers and keep existing ones. New international viewers would not know OGN ever exists, so english OGN page would do zero good to promote progaming to new audiences. And there is not enough existing ones for it to be worth it to, since people get their infos from teamliquid.net anyway. I can see english OGN page making sense, when there will be enough international people who mostly only watch proleague and dont visit teamliquid.

I also faulted Blizzard for not doing enough for e sport. only OGN has really tried to expand into the foreign market, by which i mean china, with their shanghai osl finals. the sponsors of kespa and proleague don't care about nonkoreans/asians because you're not their target demographic. samsung is the only company out of all the kespa sponsors that makes consumer products that foreigners are likely to buy. unless you regularly go to korean supermarkets you're probably not going to buy any CJ food, and you're never going to get phone service from SKT or KT. my own pet theory is that proleague is a circlejerk among the kespa companies, who's got the better team, more money, biggest dick etc, so there's no real reason to expand to foreign markets.

I also faulted Blizzard for not doing enough for e sport. may be in time. ogn/kespa has/had no interest in foreign scene, hence why gom tried so hard getting since they cant have much of the korean market. if this proleague brings good results from foreign market, perhaps we'll see the changes you suggest will happen from kespa, but they're already working on it like MLG. as for OGN supporting foreign market....that makes zero sense...unless they change around their whole network, dual language, full stream support (instead of selected vods/programs for online). it wouldnt make sense for USA Network channel setting up a full korean website because 1% of their viewers are korean, would it? or NFL setting up a chinese website for chinese gridiron football fans. viewers need to come first, not the nfl organization offering broadcasts in chinese, set up chinese website, then hope they come.
