I'm pretty sure 100% of the time someone with knowledge into the Korean scene (like Wolf) tweet about a team disbanding it is happening. Happened with Soul, WJ, and FXO IIRC

which players where in [name]?
didn't the last one die because the manager was holding money back orsomething?
A LOT of the players in IM were in [Name] ... NesTea was ZergBong[Name] , The leader of IM was in [Name] , and many many more....can't even think right now, and about to leave work, will find out asap

As a KT fan all I can say is LOL.
...
KT is nowhere near what IM has done in SC2 (SC2, SC2, SC2 he put SC2 in his post surely you must have seen it) IM has won 14 GSL medals (most of any team) and 8 GSL championships (most of any team by far, 4x the next highest). They are also one of three teams to win multiple GSTLs.
So yeah what he said was 100% true, and all I can say in response to your post (besides the part where I just refuted your argument) is LOL.
My bad I only follow pro league. I guess that does sound impressive.
proleague is so late that its not even fair to look at it, IM's primetime end long before Proleague in sc2 even started ... and if you only watch proleague, so missing out like 95% of the events in sc2, perhaps you should not post something agressive like that
Well I thought the original person I replied to meant by team as in team leagues. I didnt know that individual success in the GSL was also implied. It is also funny to suggest that it will never be matched, when if we take it that sc2 goes on like BW then it will be just a tiny foot note on its history. Where as a team like KT will be around for as long as there is a scene. So I maybe not right today but I will be right eventually LOL
Well they'd best step on it with only 3 GSL a year. It's not exactly like they've been lighting the world on fire xD
Too bad about IM but i must agree with some other people here, their success was too rooted in the past (WoL) and they had just one or mb two players currently performing. If their top players / GSL champions would have kept their form also nowadays...would be a different story...i dunno how Rain or MC do it...but they're still at the top! Unfortunately to keep a team alive these days is very hard, especially without a big sponsor like LG. Soul had the same kind of problem, lost STX, tried to stand up on their own feet but couldn't, despite their very good player roster. Same with WJS, who reached the proleague final no less, then almost insta-closed! We will always remember and love the days of Nestea and Mvp...the game was different back then and they ruled it with an iron fist (especially MVP was dominant). Hopefully the few players remaining will find new teams (go PRIME pick someone up!)

Hmm? IM had 4 players in code S in s1 and 5 in s2 just this year along with ByuL as a top SPL player. As for 2013(HotS), I'd say aside from STX and probably WJS, IM had a better year than any team.
I said earlier that IM was "disbanding", but that hasn't been officially decided yet. It's not coach's word, either. I said that it's sad that Mvp/Squirtle/Trap are all leaving together. Please don't misunderstand what I said.
Anyway since Wolf let the cat out of the bag, rumor is IM is just disbanding its SC2 division. Its other teams will continue. However, there are plans to continue participating in Proleague in some form. We weren't going to run the news until we got better and more definitive sources though so we're still waiting for more info.
So maybe a shimmer of hope + all rumors ofcourse
It makes a lot more sense to consider they were talking about the fact that two people left in nearly the same time.
It's a very sad day. I've been a fan of IM since I first got into the pro Starcraft 2 scene. I'll miss the days of Mvp dominating the GSL and how everyone cowered before the mighty being that was Nestea. Even when they lost a lot of key players before heading into Proleague and the team began to wither, I'm proud to have been a fan to the very end.
