Farewell Dear Team of Gods , you gave us the best zerg on the planet the creator of Universe and the God Nestea , you trusted MvP and maked him the best thath there is.
Because of you in 2010 i found my 2v2 champion Nestea taking on SC2 and becoming GOD
Forever i will remeber the day of days when you where founded : '' Founded in 2010 by five former StarCraft: Brood War players: ZergBong/NesTea, Mvp, ChRh/KYumer, TT and LosirA. ''
I dont know if Wolf is right , or maybe there is a mistake , but this is sad , very sad , you where the team of teams , you where my last hope , my last dream from SC2 , I still hope this is only me dreaming , but like oGs .... i can only hope thath you will continue , not like oGs did , thath you will show me thath you are indead the best team
Hope I posted this good here .... and sorry for my english , i know its kind of bad
Farewell Team of Gods , hope you will reborn someday ... when we will be NR1 game again
For those thath read on twitter , i know Wolf said this isnt 100% close down , but still i hoped with oGs too after MC left , i still hope dont get me wrong , Hope thath they will recruit new sc2 players , not famous , but new ones young and thath they will be strong again and unite
And PS; Dont know if this will happen , but with the last aliance IM&Startale maybe they will Unite or something :D just saying :D
I am heartbroken right now... my favorite team, the one that I have supported ever since I knew of the SC2 pro scene, the ones with the greatest champions, and the most shining legacy, now gone...
SC vs Nestea MVP vs Squirtle 2011 (GSTL 1 finals) MVP vs Squirtle 2012 (GSL finals) IM Vs Slayers 2011 (GSTL 2 Finals, the whole damn thing). MVP vs Nestea Blizzcon 2011 Finals
There's a lot of potential. (I might get around to making a thread with links for that after work).
This is a sad day for Starcraft. IM has won 8 GSL championships, while no other team was able to win 3 until this day. It was probably the most accomplished team in SC2 history.

This is not official.. I recall Wolf replying to the reactions of this tweet in Korean that the disbanding of IM is probably going to happen but that there is no official statement by IM yet.
So sad Best team in SC2 history so far. Hope the players find success either together or apart.
It'll feel so weird saying "Mvp" and "Nestea" without putting the "IM" in front of it.... half of what made Mvp's name so cool was it sounded like "I am MVP", and everyone knew he really was. He needs to adopt it as part of his name regardless of team now

They have only 3 players left (?). So even if they survive... there's nothing left from the glorious days
If it's not 100% confirmed they're done, the title should be changed. In addition to Wolf admitting he's not sure, ByuL stated this morning that IM is NOT disbanding. Though, I'm not sure if ByuL meant IM isn't disbanding but the sc2 division is (it sure looks like it).

Well said. I think most of us went through a period of time in 2011/2012 where we were frustrated by Coach Kang and his choices in team leagues, but he had a vision of trial by fire for his players in team leagues and sure enough his vision eventually resulted in dominating performances across the board. I think a lot of us underestimated that guy, and I don't think he ever got the appreciation he deserved.

normally when a team disbands im like whatevers. but today i feel like a part of me just died. whenever i heard IM MVP and IM NESTEA i got shivers down my spine.
Wow..just wow..These guys were my most favorite team back then and I still considered them the best there has been for SC2. MVP + Nestea were my SC2 heroes :'(
Looking at the current active member, I don't feel much sad. Right now I don't have the feel that they are one of the best team like they were in the past. Yup, right now they look like a team that try their best to survive.
But when look back at their timeline and recall all of their performance in the past at the glory days of SC2 WOL, when Mvp or NesTea won GSL there will have more than 400 pages of GSL topic in TL with tons of people joining, when the final moment had decided and victory screen appear there will be tons of post "All hail to the king of SC2", I can recall that moment clearly, now I'm in verge of tears.
Even if I did not play SC2 and quit watching tournament since BL-Infestor Era, inside of my heart miss the excitement of SC2 before the queen patch so much. Hopefully this game can bring back those excite moment again someday.
I was a big STX Soul fan at BW era, when SC2 cameout I started support IM too and now Im alone in this world. Russia does not have any big and interesting teams, my lovely korean teams died also, Mvp is close to retirement - who should I root for now? T____T

Without a doubt. Unless for some reason LotV proves to be what SC2 misses to be the greatest game of all time and the scene explodes for decades to come. But by then I'm sure Mvp will have returned and started to kick ass again ;D
Not surprising considering I recall reading a post that many team members left the team and at the same time, they had that big stint with LG last year and can only guess other sponsorship issues. Best of luck to the members and still a bit hard to see IM shut down.
Yes it was , but only because people tought it was 100% , we still have hopes , like i said , but the fact is thath IM is not doing so well , i mean when so many players leave , its not good , because now they have only the 3 ones thath theyr contracts expire later

KT is nowhere near what IM has done in SC2 (SC2, SC2, SC2 he put SC2 in his post surely you must have seen it) IM has won 14 GSL medals (most of any team) and 8 GSL championships (most of any team by far, 4x the next highest). They are also one of three teams to win multiple GSTLs.
So yeah what he said was 100% true, and all I can say in response to your post (besides the part where I just refuted your argument) is LOL.
Just shows how unstable e-sports scene is, especially when it comes to a niche games like SC2. First they get all possible sponsorships a team could wish for, including such giants as LG and Coca-Cola. And just a few years later they are shut down... RIP my favorite SC2 team.
Sad news today, this is definitely a very tumultuous time in Starcraft with the gameplay being better than ever but some of our old favorites are moving on and so that makes some of the "awesome" a little less so. I still really like the production levels and quality of play for Starcraft, but we need to rethink how we support teams and players who aren't already at the height of their fame.

I don't think the comparison is relevant after the KeSPA switch, or how many Proleagues KT or any team has to win to get recognition?

winning just one league after most old teams disband can not proof them anything, they cant compete with the old teams that not exist anymore so they can be "good" teams but nothing else but if you want so, im had like 14 medals only in korea and i guess even the same in foreignstan so ok when they hit 28 wins ... you see ? its totaly stupid to even try to compare it xD

One of the games I remembered. Innovation completely botched that game after that because he was aggressive (rightly so) but kept losing units to tanks as mvp pushed out with his mech army and eventually managed to siege his exp etc... good game though but Innovation won that series in the end lol

Well they'd best step on it with only 3 GSL a year. It's not exactly like they've been lighting the world on fire xD
Too bad about IM but i must agree with some other people here, their success was too rooted in the past (WoL) and they had just one or mb two players currently performing. If their top players / GSL champions would have kept their form also nowadays...would be a different story...i dunno how Rain or MC do it...but they're still at the top! Unfortunately to keep a team alive these days is very hard, especially without a big sponsor like LG. Soul had the same kind of problem, lost STX, tried to stand up on their own feet but couldn't, despite their very good player roster. Same with WJS, who reached the proleague final no less, then almost insta-closed! We will always remember and love the days of Nestea and Mvp...the game was different back then and they ruled it with an iron fist (especially MVP was dominant). Hopefully the few players remaining will find new teams (go PRIME pick someone up!)

Hmm? IM had 4 players in code S in s1 and 5 in s2 just this year along with ByuL as a top SPL player. As for 2013(HotS), I'd say aside from STX and probably WJS, IM had a better year than any team.

I'll miss the days of Mvp dominating the GSL and how everyone cowered before the mighty being that was Nestea. Even when they lost a lot of key players before heading into Proleague and the team began to wither, I'm proud to have been a fan to the very end.

Please do not take his or others peoples words as fact when the topic is something as big as IM disbanding.

GG IM and thank you for everything.
give it sometime, SKT will catch up soon :D
that or when Flash becomes sc2 bonjwa KT will rise :D
Because people still hope , i for one dont , like oGs when a key player leaves its bad news ,
I really hope thath this is only theyr plan to find new players , but we didnt had any news about thath only startale said they are looking for young ones
The reason why Byul didnt said anything is beucase he is under contract with IM , and under contract there are some things you cant say , now thath they have only 2 players , the players thath had theyr contract last sign , Byul i dont know , but lucky is new
So in the end i still hope , but .. we will see
I still hope for IM-TL , IM-EG, IM-Axiom , IM-Acer :D
Well in axiom q&a i asked about IM and they said there will be very very good news , but now with Byul to CJ it only remaina lucky thath from whath i now he was the last pick for Im so i think he still has a contract . I still hope about some kespa plan because from whath i saw theyr LOL team IM is doing well or a little ok , and i dont see the manager quit SC2 so fast .... im really sad ( Hope these days we will get an official response about it .... ( still best team IM forever
Thath i hope too , or new people and a partner new team for proleague , now with startale going solo , hoping for axiom as they said they have good news for IM , but we will see :p hoping for the best till the end
