Although actually it'd really spice things up if they did it that way in esports. Imagine Marcus Lindmark coming out on stage at Dreamhack to have that conversation with Robert Ohlén before the finals. Though in the real world that'd probably result in being decked.

Not saying DHs statement is the correct one, but Ohlen doesn't do much to add to his credibility. He actually does exactly the opposite. How would you be if the company you helped found and put a lot of work in suddenly kicks you out?

Good to hear an official statement being made instead of just going off Ohlen's obnoxious rage tweets.

Frankly, the word "professionalism" is used far too often as an excuse for blatant lying in these kinds of situation. Not that I am saying that anyone here is actually lying. There's no honest anger, what kind of definitions do you have? There's a spiteful, bitching arse out there, who literally does nothing but trying to taint DH reputation without actually having an explanation why - how's that a statement "fueled by honest anger"? He doesn't do or say anything, he's simply being passive aggressive, which isn't even remotely "honest anger". Not to mention that, since he doesn't disclose what "actually happened" (assuming that DH lied, which he implies, but doesn't say, which is exactly what kids in puberty do), the only reasonable thing to do is to assume that there is nothing that "actually happened". He got fired. His tweets show clearly, that there might be a reason, since apart from being spiteful, passive aggressive and slanderous - nothing comes from him. Btw, professionalism in official statements doesn't mean "lying". It's bullshit. It means, you ignore questions that kinda feel iffy to answer to. Which DH didn't. A professional statement has alot of words, but doesn't answer any questions, which the DH statement did (they even tried to answer to the conspiracy-theories). I have yet to see a statement of a reasonably sized company with a good name that straight out lied. How would you be if the company you helped found and put a lot of work in suddenly kicks you out? Depends. What if you change "suddenly kicks you out" to "fires you for a reason"? edit: people here assume that DH did Ohlen wrong, but so far, there's literally NO "evidence" pointing to that. None. The only thing we have is a statement from DH, and nothing from Ohlen. Would you act like this if somebody fires you unrightfully, or would you try to explain WHY it was unrightful rather than slandering? I know i would try to make people understand why i rage, to not look like a fricking spiteful idiot.

He came on board almost a decade after the festival started. And from what I've heard and read, his takeover of the company in 2009-11 wasn't exactly bloodfree either.

The amount of backstabbing, name calling and beard pulling we've had between the board, the management and the employee federation has been freaking biblical in proportions. We tried to bring in mediators and negotiators with experience from middle east, but they just shook their heads and left for some easier assignments in IS-controlled areas in Iraq instead. I tell you, it aint been easy lately! Has Robert been the subject of a Coup d'état? Yes. This has been a long process in which over the past months the board and leadership within DreamHack has unanimously seen a need for change within the leadership of the company and communicated with Robert through various means like poisoned darts, nasty signed post-its, hidden spiders, honey traps, you name it. Hell, we even sold his desk on alibaba to some dude in Arizona, but he just wouldn't take a hint! It has not been something that has happened suddenly or overnight, I can tell you, oh no! Why is the board relieving Robert as CEO at DreamHack? We just can't stand the guy anymore. There is something about him that rubs us the wrong way these days. Besides, we have agreed to put one of our pals as the CEO. He might not be as qualified, but he's a good bloke and he does what he is told to without protesting or trying to reason or raising interesting points or challenging decisions in any kind of way. Our buddy, he is! Will more employees leave DreamHack? Ha! Just wait and see. Christmas is coming. Need I say more? Some people better shape up right now and they know it... Will DreamHack stop with activity X or arrange competition in game X now? We're pondering going into activity XX, and our consultants are already into activity XXX. Me, I'm having a glass of XXXX every now and then! How about that? 11/10 Will print this and bang it.
