DreamHack announced today the two featured competitions of DreamHack Tours 2015, the first stop of DreamHack Open 2015.
DreamHack Tours – May 8-10th, Tours, France DreamHack Open – StarCraft II: $25,000 DreamHack Open – Counter Strike: Global Offensive: $40,000
It will be the first DreamHack event in France and will also have 4 BYOC tournaments with Hearthstone, StarCraft II, League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
Jean-Christophe Arnaud, CEO of Malorian SARL, coordinator company behind the event in France: “After the outstanding welcome from the french gaming community regarding the opening of four big LAN tournaments in CS:GO, StarCraft II, Hearthstone and League of Legends, hosting the first stop of the DreamHack Open 2015 is an honor and a priceless occasion to celebrate the coming of the Dreamhack in France. You could not ask for more for a first event!”
Tomas Lyckedal, Head of Esports at DreamHack AB: “There is no doubt that 2015 will be a huge year for Counter Strike: Global Offensive, especially after the results we’ve seen at DreamHack Winter and DreamHack Stockholm with French teams excelling. Alongside the very impressive results of French players in the WCS qualifiers for StarCraft II, we are tremendously excited to bring the first stop of DreamHack Open 2015 featuring both StarCraft II and Counter Strike to DreamHack Tours!”

Do we know the exact location of the event?

DreamHack Tours 2015 doesn't stand for "tour" as in "circuit", but for the city in France, HERE.

Holy shit they actually dared to make it happen not in Paris, grats to DH !

Hehe I read it wrong too, but cool to see DH in France!

Didn't expect sc2 to be there after the Ohlen drama. Guess we all worried for nothing then.

So what about sc2 being the less relevant game? Will it be given a less fancy stage as it has had so far? I mean the casters and hosts in front of the gleamy wall, the space allocated to it (which was anyway much smaller than lol for example), etc? 25k prize pool is not too bad... I really hope the production is as good as it has been so far.

25k is the same amount of money Dreamhack awarded last year for sc2, so I would guess that the only difference would be a smaller stage.

Yeah, looks like CS will be the main game this year. Sweden has always been a pretty CS loving country so make sense with how big it is atm too. Was Dota as a main game last year I think. Things change and DH will put the bigger stage for the bigger audience which makes sense. The prizepool stays the same.

maybe if there are 2 stage, CS will be in the bigger and SC2 in the smaller if there is 1 stage (like DH Bucharest were I went 2 times), probably the last game with the grand final and with more hype will be CS and the grand final for SC2 will be in the afternoon

Can't miss that ! :D So happy to have this event in France!

Why? Have you seen the opportunities they got, esp. with regards to prices, places, etc. in France? I really don't know where they could've done that in Paris for a decent price... It may seem random considering the cities in France, but not that much once you take everything into account.
Looking forward to be there. Oh and to meet fellow TL members of course

It's time to spend lots of money for the eSport passion!
