That might be because I'm using Nimix's mouse though. ;D Indeed, I play mostly SC2 and RTS games and I dabble in the occasional Hawken match, where I like the mouse as well. I don't think the Spawn is very good for FPS like CSGO because it tends to die if you swipe it really quickly and long to do 180s. Great for RTS and SC2 though.

Great for RTS and SC2 though. You're surely right, there's no such thing as 180s in Hawken because there are hotkeys to do it for you. I don't think the Spawn is a great mouse for FPS, but it gets the job done, at least for me, in the casual, occasional shooter. I just really like the mouse.

It heavily depends on the firmware you're using though, I remember that when I tried the low LoD firmware the max tracking speed was really low.

Precise like Fantasy. If you've ever seen him stream, he can snipe a couple of speed banelings on creep with marines if there aren't too many. I guess I'm talking without knowing for sure, since I don't know what settings Fantasy uses, however I DO know that he's very accurate. Otherwise it's how I feel stuff. My Spawn does 800 / 1800 / 3500 DPI and whenever I play aimbooster I notice it's a lot easier to be precise quickly using the 800 setting than the 1800 setting. Like, if you can be precise at 1800 DPI (hit a baneling in 500 ms), you can probably even be more precise using a lower setting (hit a baneling in 300 ms or something). I THINK that higher DPI is easier on the wrists though. I'm not going to lie either, I use 1800 DPI when I play Starcraft and when I'm at the desktop, I only go to 800 when I load up an FPS or play aimbooster. I'm fine trading some speed & accuracy in Starcraft for comfort, since I think if you get used to a certain setting you can be precise with it all day, every day. Well these are my thoughts, I'm not 100% sure about them but I think it makes sense. Edit: this is pretty precise and totally applicable to RTS games, if you use hotkeys to move camera around instead of the mouse (like koreans do): + Show Spoiler +

Lol define precise, define quickly. that 800-1200 dpi low dpi crap is only what CS players use lol like 80% high level osu players use equivelant of 600-1600dpi and it's around there that's best for sc2 as well, it's not even debatable. The only reason to use higher than ~1200 on 1920x1080 is because you feel that your hand speed is too slow even after practice, and want to give up accuracy to compensate for that weakness. I THINK that higher DPI is easier on the wrists though depends on the grip you use and how you use it The higher you go, the worse muscle memory and muscle memory is king for pretty much everything. There's plenty of videos of some the best micro players using that sens range, because pretty much all of them are doing it, even though sc2 is less reliant on perfect aim than some other games out there. DPI in FPS is a COMPLETELY UNRELATED subject. You can have 400dpi in an FPS game and use 10cm/360, or you can have 6400dpi in an FPS and also use 10cm/360, so DPI alone isn't a measure of sensitivity in those games. And just because you might be confused if making statements like that: All numbers taken from windows at 6/11 on sensitivity slider (1:1) with enhanced pointer precision disabled. A lot of people making ridiculous statements like that have positive+negative mouse acceleration enabled or other tracking problems.

Claw style 2. What's your sensitivity? windows 7/11, 1800 dpi, 53% in sc2 3. What's your maximum budget? Around 50€ I'd say. Leaning towards something cheaper because mice keep dying on me. 4. Do you want additional buttons? Needs to have 2 side buttons. 5. What games do you play? Dota2, SC2, CSGO 6. Do you mind angle snapping? no clue. 7. Other relevant information: Used a G500 for a couple of years. I'd rather get a (slightly) smaller mouse now. Probably fits the claw style better anyways. Leaning towards Cooler Master right now. How's the CM Storm Mizar?

Have you looked at the Cooler Master Xornet?

It just looks super small, being using a large mouse my whole life. (what's the difference between the Xornet and the Spawn btw?) Edit: Also there's a 1600dpi version for the Xornet and a 2000dpi version :o And, how accurate is the G302 for let's say FPS gaming?

Spawn is probably better in terms of sensor or something and I think the Recon has the same sensor, this is my source: http://www.overclock.net/t/854100/gaming-mouse-sensor-list I won't go into details as I'm not that knowledgeable about mice, what I do know is that Spawn and Xornet are both mice which should take a look at given your needs. I also know they're well priced as well, so I chimed in.

If you're using 1800dpi with 7/11, then that's actually effectively 2700dpi, but skipping pixels. The sensor in the g302 is excellent, but without the gyro that the same sensor in g402 has, it reaches malfunction speeds if you're a faster player at a typical FPS sensitivity range (making ~10-30cm swipes at high speeds) i have not heard of a 1600dpi xornet version before

I'm in love with my logitech mini optical. It has been my go-to mouse for years and is so comfortable. I'm merely looking for another one since I now own more than one computer. Alas, they are now impossible to find. Even harder to find is anything comparable to it with side buttons, which is what I really want. I'm a fingertip grip, but really want side buttons for browsing. What's the closest I can get to an LMO with side buttons? edit: Whoa... just saw this http://gaming.logitech.com/en-gb/product/moba-gaming-mouse-g302?wt.ac=HP-CTA-g302 looks almost perfect...though after reading through the thread a bit seems it has tracking issues. Maybe I'm getting too into the minutia... I should mention I don't want to have to use any special kind of software or drivers. the steelseries rival also looks kind of nice, but maybe too tall/arched: http://steelseries.com/products/mice/steelseries-rival#section-performance
