I almost made a blog about this Ah yes Even though I don't oppose the idea myself, i too found it redundant, to have the featured blogs also appear in the 'unranked' blog section Like with R1CH's how to capture meth in XSplit blog :F (hehe word cutoff) Also why not introduce yet another element to the equation, the equation of fun - blog ladder! Automatically feature top 100 blogs by rankings : D! Should your blog score go down, blam, back to the regular ladder with ye! I'm sure it wouldn't be insanely huge problem, but what would stop someone trying to make top 100 from going through the top 100 bloggers and 1-starring all their posts to rank them down?
I agree it's redundant to have featured blogs also appear in the regular blogs section though.

While my post was written mostly tongue-in-cheek (we're not planning to take the blog ladder by storm with SirJolt at all, pssh), you raise a valid point
Most blogs in the top100 though, apart from a select few, have enough ratings to not be phased or influenced at all by random 1-voters (who are the bane of every system with hit&run voting capabilities). Then again, that could possibly weed out those one-hit bloggers (which necessarily isn't a problem) and their low amount of entries/reputation/fanbase. Hmm
Food for thought for the inception of the TL Grandmaster Blog League though

List seems good so far. Just missing some baller!

This is a great idea but when someone (example Tyler) makes a blog his appears 2x in the featured and in the regular blogs, is there is a way could you guys make people who are featured go straight to the featured section so that way they don't take up space in reg blogs allowing for more. Sorry if i worded that oddly

Good stuff. Thanks for the addition!

Finally we can seperate the well though out blogs from the boredom induced suck ass ones, now i can have more of Gheed's Bronze adventures readily available :DDDDD.

Currently I've seen few ratings for the views/comments I have in blogs, which are a much better indicator of quality. It creates an unfavourable post-to-reward ratio too, for example If someone makes their first blog and gets a single 5 star rating that's a 5 star average over all their work, currently a 5 star rating would be a +0.046 in my average (with favourable rounding). Also of course since this works on average across blogs it's not featured blogs but featured users who make blogs, which I suppose is what you are going for highlight notable forum personalities. It is a good idea, just from the perspective of someone who works with ratings the way you are featuring things seems sub-optimal. To the best of my understand only the initial set of featured blogs were picked based off of ratings. Future additions won't necessarily be based off of rating.
Oh, good :D Cus sometimes you may make a blog entry where it's just a question like some of mine, and I wouldn't want that to now weigh down my rating forever.

Yeah, this is true. I literally have seen someone go through and mark all my blogs a 1, not sure why. Maybe they actually hated them, but it just seemed shiesty. I am not that concerned, but I think that the star ratings are far too open to trolls. =)
Overall, I like the section and think it is a great idea. Thanks guys!

Actually nvm, people only read blogs to see girl blogs. Replace Featured Blogs with Girl Blogs imo: Blogs < Girl Blogs < Featured Girl Blogs Rofl so true. Then you add in featured charcoal drawings of girls...

It's nice, so it'll be easier for blogs that are not front page feature material, but still good, to be a bit more visible! Good idea.
However, reading through the featured ones right now, I have the feeling that some ended up there because the blogger is a big name rather than the blog actually being very good. What I liked with the front page feature is that a first poster has as big of a chance to get there as a 15k posts veteran, as long as the content is the same. Maybe it's just at startup that it is like this. Just hoping the featured blogs wont be an internal club for the veterans only.

Ohh noooo, but now it might be less (girl problum), and (Just crushed Silver, quitting school), (Hi I think I'mz smart and intelligent) blogs

Hey i have a small suggestion for the tl.net featured blogs section. When i click the featured blogs link it shows me a list of the featured blogs. However, none of the topics are listed, just the bloggers. I think tl.net would benefit from having the titles of the blogs listed as well. Well actually i'm not so sure how tl.net could benefit as an organization from this but, it would make way easier to figure out what these blogs are about.
