Thanks to Splashimage.net for the news!
Week 2 of the second round was played last Saturday...
Hanbitsoft vs Orion
1: Reach(Hanbit) defeated Kingdom(Orion) on Sin Gaema Gowun 2: HOT&Reach (Z&P, Hanbit) defeated Zerglee&Rainbow(Z&P, Orion) on Neo Jungle Story 3: Iloveoov(Orion) defeated Junwi(Hanbit) on Guillotine
Hanbit 2 : 1 Orion
The powerful team of Zerglee and Rainbow finally fell, to another skilled team, the Reach & HOT. Rainbow nearly pulled off a 1:2 victory, but he just barely missed the victory. Reach finished with a very impressive 18+ archon attack.
Junwi was looking weak in his game vs Iloveoov, who went for an ODD build of 2 fact mine vults into fast expansion. Junwi didn't seem to have any particular counter in mind, not expanding like mad, or trying to hurt Iloveoov while he was weak. Iloveoov trampled over Junwi with metal. Junwi's performance in the pro league is not so great, and his performance in the MBCGame prelims was not so good either. This leads some to carefully guess that he's good at games he can prepare for, but not so great against an unexpected opponent.
KTF vs IS
1: Nada(KTF) defeated Breeze[Akuta](IS) on Nostalgia 2: Autumn&Yellow (P&randomP, KTF) defeated Sindoki&Breeze[Akuta](Z&P, IS) on The Huntress 3: Mumyung(IS) defeated TheMarine(KTF) on Sin Gaema Gowun
KTF 2 : 1 IS
Breeze is a poor replacement for Kos, or so it seemed in his game vs Nada. Nada crushed him rather easily, it was clear that they were on different levels. IS recently accquired Sindoki, but he was unable to deliver in his first performance for the IS team. TheMarine suffered the same fate as a recently traded player, he was defeated by Mumyung. TheMarine's tournament performance has been suffering greatly, but yet he was still sought out by a top team like KTF. Whatever he's doing behind closed doors, he really needs to show it where it counts.
Next week: AMD vs GO (very interesting :O), IS vs Orion(Orion trying for a 3:0 instead of a 2:1)

what happened to IS? Did their sponsorship dry up or something, so they lose all their top players, or did new sponsors put more money into competing teams.
It is great to see the number of competative pro-teams though. I hope it can last.

afther his 3:0 loss vs xellos he went into the woods to fight against bears. in 2 weeks he will return with new amazing skills...

I like that theory honk2000, lol, seriously, i cheered for SlayerS since i first knew about him but nowadays... he is clearly either not caring for these tournaments or just losing his skil or everybody knows his playing style by watchign his reps to often... iunno

Frost, suft, Boxer is not losing skill
Haha, Honk

I think the way these team leagues work is that the team that wins a game gets to choose who plays the next game and who against from the other team, on the designated map for that game. Hanbitsoft don't have to be Einsteins to figure out that *not* picking boxer to play vs Junwi may very well maximise their chances.

Rather than skill(which i believe TheMarine still has got some) what KTF is looking in TheMarine is leadership. They are not looking for a mega-terran, otherwise they would have asked Xellos who is nowdays way better terran than TheMarine. Since they know ArtofHan's retirement, they need someone to be the team leader. Comparing to soccer, is like Hierro in Real Madrid. He was a great defender but now he is old and slow(he has always been damn slow anyways). Why is he still in the team? Cause he is the team leader. He is like the grandpa. And thats why TheMarine is needed in KTF. They want this guy to be the "hyong" of NaDa and the friend and advicer of Yellow. At least, thats what i think from what i read in some korean newspaper and some sites. And dont forget that if TheMarine gets in shape, he will own again. Just 1 year ago he was 3rd in KPGA ranking, just behind Boxer and Yellow.

that's just MBCGame
if you search the archives for the very first KTF ever post, there's an explaination on the system.
Orion uses a strange method, they put out the two players who did best in their inter-team games that week. Thus it could mean Boxer didn't place top 2 this week. That, or his loss vs Xellos could have had something to do with it.
