Why doesn't TL stop acting childish bullshit and just accept the EG-rules? It's their tournament. You don't think the onus is on the tournament organizer to a. ensure fair play conditions for the competitors or b. accommodate a major, community-backed team's request to achieve those fair play conditions? Unless I misunderstand the situation or it's changed from last season, TL wants alternating servers, or at least some kind of Korean server accommodation in where it plays its games. EG wants all games played on the North America server. TL then refuses to play. If this happened one season, sure, I'd give EG the benefit of the doubt and call it an unfortunate situation. But now we're at a point where SC2's international infrastructure has improved tremendously. Koreans compete in every major league and there is a plurality of foreign server accounts available to all major tournament organizers, teams, and players. Not to mention EG itself has just recruited a fucking player from Korea to play as a part of their team! I don't understand how you can reconcile that with it's simultaneous refusal to cater AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE to competitors outside of North America, even (or especially) when they represent the American community? THAT'S why I call this childish PR "don't-blink" bullshit.

I originally thought all the teams who made it to the playoffs would auto-qualify and the bottom four would have to re-qualify which makes more sense but it's kind of obvious why the cutoff was placed where it was. I personally think the League should be expanded to twelve teams with open qualifications, It would make the season longer, but I don't really think that's a bad thing. Additionally, I agree that the cut-off is incredibly low, at 6th place, but it's kind of obvious why it's there. Also, on another note, it blows my mind that anyone can complain about, "second rate teams like Complexity", when they finished in second place and then go on to tout FXO which failed to qualify for this season. As for the Liquid fiasco, it shouldn't be an issue. EG has it's own rules for the Master's Cup, Liquid doesn't like those rules, they don't participate in the tournament, simple. I can absolutely understand why cross server would be a pain in the ass and I can also understand why Liquid thinks it's unfair to have everything played on NA, they're choosing not to play so there's no issue. Finally, the whole Complexity/Fnatic "fiasco"(there was no Dignitas involved, people are absolutely idiotic sometimes) isn't even a real fiasco, their players weren't available and they had already qualifier so they decided to play Xeris in the ace match because they were locked in. They owe nothing to Sixjax nor do they have any responsibility to make sure which team should qualify, it's not like they just threw an easily won game either, because the games Xeris played in were the 2v2(Where Catz and Drewbie were undefeated anyways) and the ace where only Fenix was available otherwise(Complexity's Minigun has a ridiculously positive record against Fenix). Additionally, Complexity went on to 3-0 Fnatic in the playoffs so I don't see why people still bring the issue up at all. Sixjax failure to qualify was based on their own performance, it's not Fnatic's responsibility. I agree with all of this. Also, Happy Birthday dude!

If I want to start a tournament for players who's names only start in Q, im not going to be like ok you A players and D players can play to. It's weird to me that ALL the other teams (who also have foreign non us players) did not put up a big stink about this and complied, but TL did. everyone but Tl was like "ok its your event" and there supposed to bend to TL?

They're hosting a $10,000 tournament with some of the best sc2 teams, I don't understand how you could twist this to make it seem negative. Last season TL was invited, but because of a dispute they had with server/latency issues, they decided to not be involved with EG MCSL. EG was hosting the tournament, therefore they make the rules, which they decided would be NA server only. Just because TL didn't want their players to have to deal with latency (which is totally understandable), it doesn't mean the community should take a dump on this thread. On a positive note, go EG! I enjoyed the last season, and I'm sure I'll tune in to this season as well. If you think you wouldn't enjoy the format, I would urge you to watch it at least once, the 2v2 adds some excitement that alot of tournaments don't have in my opinion. EG Fighting!

OK, but I think all of that is bullshit. Why can they not they bend their rules? What god of Starcraft descended from the heavens and said, "EG, YOU ARE THE ALMIGHTY ARBITRATOR OF STARCRAFT TOURNAMENT RULES, AND YOU HAVE WRITTEN THAT WE SHAN'T ACCOMMODATE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITORS, UNLESS OF COURSE THEY PLAY FOR YOUR TEAM, AND NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED TO FIND FAULT IN YOUR OMNIPOTENT WAYS"? It's idiotic that we blindly accept EG's conditions which today are nothing if not completely arbitrary.

See how what you said can be flipped on its head? Now, can we please just drop this stupid, tired conversation? Refer to S1's thread for any further clarification. Enjoy this tournament for the teams it does have, the prize pool, the casters, and the great games it will provide.

Please refer to this thread (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=218351) as to why liquid isn't participating, everybody already got out all their ranting in that thread ^^

Because the rules are not fair to all competitors. Liquid isn't the only problem anymore. What about Mouz and Dignitas who will have their best players in Korea? Nani was annoyed by lag from Sweden to NA, I'm pretty sure he won't play from Korea to NA. It's really weird that non-NA teams are accepting to play on these terms, but I guess Mouz and Dignitas see it as easy money nonetheless, so

The only thing special about this tourney is the 2v2s which I am not interested in watching. They need Liquid and Korean teams

It's not a slight at the league, but just people expressing their interests.

How can you even remotely expect them to accept such a stupidly unfair condition? "Oh, if you play in our tournament, all your units will respond half a second after you tell them to. Just so you know. And it's 100% your problem if you don't accept our rules. SUP, PEACE OUT, -EG"
