As for some of the others, he's said multiple times if they didn't show an interest in NASL before hand he didn't reach out to them. By show interest in mean compete in the qualifiers or communicate their interest to him once the Koreans dropped out. There is also the very present visa issues potentially for some as well. Edit: forgot this wasn't the announcement thread so added a link instead of page 32 reference.
Okay thanks o,o

Everything seems to be shaping up for a great season 2. I am a little perplexed as to why they went with an 8 week season instead of 7. I liked being able to see every player every week. Though I suppose not seeing a favorite for one of the 8 weeks isn't that big of a deal.

Looking pretty good from here.
It's not really balanced if you look at it regionally. Seven Asians (not counting Moonan/Select, but counting Moonglade) amongst 40 players is certainly not a good ratio.
I'd say that it's relatively balanced nationally, but in terms of continents, Europe is quite overrepresented (almost half of the players).
I don't really give a shit either way, but I wouldn't call it a "healthy balance."

The groups seem pretty evened out for me. No group of death or anything. This is shaping up to be a great season1!! Gotta say, Puma is the definite favorite going in.

You can't really expect KR to be half the tournament, considering 90% of them withdrew last minute, remember?

I thought this was the NASL. Why are there only 13 players from the USA or Canada?

What am I watching right now? Part of the actual season play? I though this was preseason... Thanks in advance. EDIT: Shit. I'm an idiot. Sorry.

Because it is hosted in North America, not like it says North American Only League.

because they invited some more..there will be less in season 3. but my guess is that we will see some random invites in season 3 too (only 40 players this season ,) )

When did I expect anything, or when did I even mention KR? I was just saying that the term "healthy balance" isn't applicable in this situation when we are talking about regional/continental representation.

Dimaga, Huk, and Jinro are well deserved. Lowely qualified
I question the invite of these 4: SoftBall, iNkA, HwangSin, and DeMusliM
SoftBall is low profile, but he is good friends with sen and apparently a beastly taiwanese player. i'd give him a chance because a lot of asian players are underrated/unheard of. iNkA doesn't have a team anymore so can't go to as many tourneys, but he is easily better than a lot of people. HwangSin I don't know much about, but his team league appearances weren't inspiring, but weren't bad. I'm sure he has a reason to be there. DeMuslim is GOOD. He went through MLG open bracket, stopping only after hitting Liquid'Hero

There are a lot of NA Protoss players comparable to or better than iNkA, I dunno. SoftBall is an unknown, so can't really comment there but HwangSin has also lost to a fair few decent NA players who aren't included. DeMuslim is once again a pretty solid choice but there are comparable Terrans out there.

This tournament will make Puma so rich
He could be the only top Korean playing here for years

My predictions on the top 2 of each division :
Division 1 : HerO / White-Ra Division 2 : Mana / HuK Division 3 : Kiwikaki / Sjow Division 4 : Sen / SeleCT Division 5 : Puma / Dimaga

The race balance was done nicely with each group consisting of 3/3/2 also the teams were balanced fairly. Only team that is pretty much unavoidable is Liquid since they have so many members participating. Only change I would of probably have done was put Sheth and HerO alone in different groups rather then having HayprO and Jinro alone. HayprO and Jinro could of been paired up instead.
Also two notable free agents that should be able to find a team anytime soon are Fenix and mOOnGLaDe. Maybe Liquid Fenix and Liquid mOOnGLaDe imo sounds nice to me. Team Liquid needs to reach out to Latin America and Southeast Asia continent players. Plus they can use another terran user. Both players respectably are the best from their individual country. Should qualify for future WCG and/or BlizzCon.

A solid EU basis, some more NA, a handful of Koreans sprinkled in and three SEA/Asia players to round it all off.
Looks really good to me.

NASL is more like Serie A (Bad Players, Bad Production, Bad Fans). Look at the Playerline-up. The Playoffs in like 5month will be so boring, the season will be meaningless. why should anyone waste their time watching season-games? they doesn't matter at all! at the end some random player like DIMAGA will win the Open Bracket and win the whole thing like PuMa did. Possible Playoff-games Sjow vs DarkForce are just really boring and won't attract allot of viewers.

Oh Boy, are you really that stupid? Global StarCraft League means Players from across the world? NASL only means: Bad League hold in NA.
