love how some people in here are hyping ForGG, as if he was some broodwar god switching over to sc2.
Yeah he 3-0ed JD in a Starleague, but seriously, that final did probably go down in history as the final with the most imbalanced maps ever: Colloseum 60% TvZ, Othello 68% and Tiamat with a friggin 100% TvZ. Lol.
But hey, if Zergbong can become a leading figure in SC2, ForGG certainly can do so as well.

No matter what, a 4-1 record against Jaedong means something. That's like being 10-0 against nestea, you have to understand the skill difference between BW and SC2

meh, I never valued Kal's TvP too highly and winning 3-2 over Kal is hardly convincing.
Beating Flash back then was certainly impressive - altough I think I remember that Flash did at least one 14 CC fail (ah, the good old Flash 14 CC times =) ) and knowing ForGG, I'm sure he cheesed the hell out of him in at least one of those games - well I may go and rewatch them later^.
If you just look at the names it looks like a most impressive MSL run, but If you go into detail, it doesn't look that scary anymore.

I dont know if maybe Kal was a lot weaker at the time but in Flash's super dominance of 2010, I found Kal to be one of the protosses who were most capable of giving Flash a good game. Sure he lost most (if not all T_T) of their games, but he looked less pathetic than most people did. His Pvt is certainly far from bad.

Kal was the only Protoss that made you realize how good Flash was in this time mentioned by poster above me, the rest of the P's just looked bad because flash was so good lol.
Kal has played a few really good games with Flash in this time period, long excruciating games in which his recalls couldnt quite break flash.

Nope, Kal looked that good 2010 because every Dragon basically sucked hard in 2010 compared to what they are capable of. Of course Kal played amazing Starcraft in 2010, there's no denying it.

According to Thorzain, ForGG has been in the top 10 of the korean Grandmaster league multiple times and has played over a thousand ladder games.
That alone is enough to hype him as being a competitive GSL player.
Maybe not a god that will crush everyone, but still.

Free had a pretty good 2010, making several deep runs in individual leagues.

Excited to see how he does, i'd be lying if I said I followed the broodwar scene very closely (or for very long), but even I've heard of forGG

i say, give this guy 6 more months (yes he played over 1000 agames already, which is a good number) and he will be the best SC2 Player, overshadowing Mvp and NesTea, Bomber or others

For those who did not watch him, the reason we are all exited about his timings attacks was that Forgg was known for his sick sick macro (his micro was solid, but not S-class level, while his macro at his peak was). So his timing attack were combined with sick macro to put up a crazy load of units (you had to see it to believe it). This is a different kind of timing attacks than one based on micro (which are Boxer forte).
|
Well, people are screaming about "he's good at this and that" when he was a former S-class player. He's good at EVERYTHING.
So yeah. Move aside, good plyaer coming through.

maybe if people stop doing the bw vs sc2 QQ and someone posts a replay of him, this thread will be more useful
