Yes turbo core will still function properly and raise the clock speed of the active cores. You can adjust the maximum multiplier.
For overclocking the 1090T you should leave turbo core on and simply raise the max multiplier(instead of raising both the base and max multi) to keep temps down except for the occasion that 6 cores are actually needed. Turbo core will also add 0.15v when it kicks in, so be mindful when you adjust voltages.

Is there such thing as a high speed ethernet cable that makes a big difference? I am switching to LAN but I only have extremely old but functional ethernet cables from like 2005. I use 12 MBPS internet from Charter as of right now.

I'm sure someone sells one, but it's kind of like buying a Monster HDMI cable.
(In other words, you're fine with what you have.)

Is SSD the future of memory? Is it better/worse than the HDDs for gaming?
|
As a student I can get the download version of windows 7 really cheap. But can I use that to do a fresh install on a new computer with blank hard drives?

HDDs are significantly slower than SSDs making SSDs the future of storage and better at everything (except gb per dollar).

So, in order to hook up a caviar blue to an external enclosure, I will need a Sata Cable, a power cable,, an ide cable[/url,]and some jumpers? Would the above parts work?
Edit: curses, the links didn't work. Well, you get the idea.
|
No?
The external enclosure should have SATA power and data. It's not called an external enclosure for no reason =\
The jumper isn't a connection fyi, it's a setting which doesn't need to be altered on SATA drives unless it's some legacy HDD that doesn't work on SATA 6Gbps.
|
It didn't come with anything aside from a usb connector and another connector to the computer.
|
Maybe link the enclosure? But, I'm guessing the solution probably involves opening it.
|
Slide HDD in...? What kind of crap enclosure needs a SATA data and power cable?
|
The enclosure is opened. The hard drive doesn't look like it sits very well when you just stick the pins into the slot...
|
Well either you're not inserting the HDD in correctly or it's a poor quality enclosure. You can purchase a SATA data and power cable but that defeats the whole purpose of having an enclosure.
|
Is it designed so you have to maybe secure the drive with something? You're describing a problem that I've never even heard of, and external HDD enclosures are pretty simple...

Does SC2 use p2p? If my ISP limits my p2p use, will SC2 be affected?

The installer can use it, but you can turn it off.

What do I do to reset the StarCraft II variables folder to read-only? I tried right clicking the variables file in the StarCraft II folder but nothing stood out.

Right Click > Properties > Read-only.
