I have recently downloaded the Sony Vegas Pro 11 trial, and i've made a Tribute/Montage video for NaDa.
However, when i tried to upload it to youtube, i get an error saying "failed to render project to youtube"
I've also tried clicking "render as" but then i get an error saying "vegas pro has stopped working"
Guys, i can't express how frustrated I am with this and ive been bashing my head against the monitor for the last 5 hours. i would seriously, honestly appreciate any bit of help i can get.
"failed to render project to youtube" sounds like it requires settings as account details and whatnot, otherwise it would be called "...for youtube" no? Maybe I'm wrong here, just sounds like it's supposed not only to optimize the encoding for youtube, but also just straight upload it there - which might also not work because youtube changes stuff quite often - more often than the program is updated.
"vegas pro has stopped working"... do you have anything overclocked? If not, you might wanna make sure you got the latest drivers of everything, chipset and gpu that is. And also an up to date windows and of course also vegas might fix stuff like that.
mhh, next step would be to un- and reinstall vegas :D
finally and worst case - check your RAMs (memtest).

sorry what do you mean by "requires settings as account details and whatnot"
what do you mean by overclocked?
I have windows 7
and wouldnt my trial time just die if i re install? im too afraid to reinstall incase i loose everything.
man im so lost i don't understand much of what you just said, but i thank you sooo much for putting the time into writing this and giving me some hope.
and one more thing, for the "upload to youtube" part, it says "an error has occured writing the file. Make sure you have write access to the file/folder and that there is enough free space"
ok so how do i get to this file or folder and see if there is enough free space.
and btw, for the "upload to youtube" part, there is a dialog box that asks for youtube acc, pass, tags etc.. which is fine, but then i click OK, and thats when the error comes up

Don't upload directly to Youtube using Vegas. Render the video in whatever format, then upload the file to Youtube manually.
Very unlikely that reinstalling would remove the trial.

How do i "render the video in whatever format"?
when i click "render as" i get an error saying "vegas has stopped working"
i tried saving the file as FLV or AVI but then the file just doesnt work.
what if i go to properties?
is there a specific template or setting that i have to put it on to work?

exactly this.

If you don't know what that means, this is not the issue - forget about that one
--------------------------------------------
Well, well, well... it still could be a faulty RAM - google for memtest... I think there is a windows version too (which is not 100% reliable, but better than nothing) in case you feel overwhelmed by the idea of creating a boot cd.
However it also could be that you just messed up with the settings. What videos did you use to make your video? Several of different resolution (picture size) and various file formats? "Render as..." is definitely what you have to get to work though. I think you should make some screenshots of the options you get (not the failure messages), properties, what is says at "render as" and the main program window as it is. Maybe someone can spot something suspicious from these.

That's a specific issue then - google it a bit. Most people here prolly don't have experience with Vegas 11.

I can render it for you, but I have After Effects, so you'll have to save the project as .aaf (Avid Legacy, I belive.)
