Often duplicated, but never imitated, Liquibition featured some of the best foreign gamers to play the game, as well as a few Korean gosus that brought their game to the table.
Many of you will remember Liquibition, but for those of you who are new here, or never followed this series, here is a quick recap for you.
Liquibition started at the end of 2002, about 3 months after the site opened. The first match pitted the Fervent Frenchman, Elky, against the Indigenous Iglooian, Liquid`Crystal. (You see why Dan should write more?) In this best of five, the featured maps were Neo Bifrost and Gaema Gowon. Elky quickly became the first ever Liquibition champion after defeating Crystal 3-1.
Here are the reports.
Here is a list of the matches that followed, linked to either their written reports or replays if nothing was written:
- #2 Elky 6-3 Blackman, Dec 25 2002, (yeah it was a bo11! haha)
- #3 Elky 4-0 Beast, February 5th 2003
- #4 Elky 7-0 Rekrul, February 11th, 2003
You gotta read the introduction to this next one...Alas we have reached the final chapter in the Nuketacular Bertrand Grospellier Saga. During his campaign he shattered Crystal (3-1), lynched Blackman (6-3), beautified Beast (4-0), and wrecked yours truly (7-0). To top off his term as the King of Liquibition he would have to beat the man that he shares bed sheets with, Smuft. Super Manner User For Toss lives in Korea and is a part of team white boy (The Dream and Us Team) with Elky and our humble site denizen. and then...
nothing. The influx of poker hit full swing and the exodus began from the TeamLiquid site. Among the casualties were none other than the beloved Belgian, GroT. And with his departure, the Liquibition series ground to a halt... until now...
