When comparing players, especially of different eras you need to adjust for pace, and even then quality of defenses favors later generations. That said Lebron still wouldn't be close to MJ but he still stacks up better than just about anyone.

I agree with you, they shouldn't do anything at all, they're a very strong team. So I just heard on the radio that Chris Paul has demanded a trade to the Knicks. Does this make them contenders for the east crown? I think it might. yeah i think it would make them contenders, but i still give the edge to heats and bulls. im wondering how much better the knicks woulda done last playoffs vs celtics w/ cp3 - surely its gotta be better than 0-4. The Knicks only legitimate argument is that their team would have more "synergy", but I am highly skeptical of any team with Amare+Melo having synergy and I am, as always, skeptical of investing heavily in the PG position.
Unfortunately basketball doesn't work like that
Wade+Lebron+Bosh is still a much better combination than Amar'e+Melo+CP3 though. The Miami trio is much more flexible and better on both sides of the ball. Chris Paul does help NY tremendously but Melo and Amar'e just aren't elite enough at other things to offset what Miami's 2 best players can do.

I'm confused what you disagree with?

I disagreed with saying Lebron > Melo, Bosh>Amar'e, and Wade > CP3 because comparing players that way doesn't work since it's not going to be a bunch of 1 on 1s all day. I agree that yes, individually it is true but it's not like a team with Chris Paul won't be abusing Pick n Rolls all day anyway. You might as well be asking how does Chris Bosh defend the PnR ballhandler in iso.

Fairly well considering his job on Boozer in the playoffs (or Boozer played just terribly, which is also possible).
edit. ^^= Misunderstanding
I was just generally comparing and stating my skepticism of the NY Knickerbockers.

Actually yes, Bosh was ranked very high defensively from some chart I saw last year about help defenders. In 1 on 1 situations him and Dirk were tied for first in defending opposing PFs.

100% agreed. The most overrated team in sports. I live in NY and you'd swear the team won 30 championships the way they are revered. I thought Laker fans felt entitled to everything. Chris Paul is my second fav player but I'm not sure I could root for them winning. Such an awful franchise.

How do New Yorkers actually feel about the Nets moving to Brooklyn? You think you could root for them?

I need a new West Coast Team to root for now that Tim Duncan is no longer fun.

Well since I live in Brooklyn - yes. People do seem genuinely excited about the Nets showing up. Billionare owner + Jay-Z = people thinking you can compete with the Knicks.
As an aside though I don't generally root for teams, more so the players that play on them.

Rockets
Well managed, lot of underrated guys, not bandwagon-ish, and if they snag a great player they have the foundation to go somewhere.
Or you could root for the grizzlies, but I think their stock is overvalued right now.

Are the rockets players for Nene or Baby Gasol you think?

+ The cavs had rubbish management. Overpaying Moe Williams, etc. Its was like their front office was being run by Daniel Snyder, except you couldn't cut the players. You can win as the only superstar as long as management doesn't sign terrible contracts (See my boy Timmy D). Surround a superstar with quality players and a bargain price and you have a team (superstars are always a bargain anyways).

Dolan will never give them up because they're still $$$ franchises and I can never root for them..

OKC is a fun team to cheer for /watch
They are my team to cheer for because the Bucks (hometown) usually stink

Wha? It's the fan and media's fault players are teaming up to win chips? Puhlease. LeBron didn't give two stuffs what the media and fans thought of his legacy up to that point. He wanted to win and thought the Miami setup would give him that best opportunity. I'm sure he cares about his legacy, but to say the (very, VERY fickle) media and fans have anything to do with that is absurd.
