I am the organizer of BarCraft Irvine. Myself and the San Diego and LA BarCraft organizers, as well as other notable community members here on TL, have all united efforts to foster eSports in our beloved SoCal area, and give our awesome community a place to gather, socialize, and compete. The first LAN in Irvine was a phenomenal success, with 44 competitors in the Pro-Am, and 32 in the Amateur. Some awesome prizes were handed out, many thanks to Tt eSPORTS, Blizzard, & Ubisoft. Equipment: The event will be held in a LAN center, so everything that you need will be provided. However, you can bring and use your own peripherals (mouse, keyboard, headphones) if you prefer. NO MACROS WILL BE ALLOWED. [Note: We will be installing the latest versions of all major drivers on the computers before the tournament – TteSPORTS, Razer, Logitech, SteelSeries, Microsoft, etc. If you have a specific manufacturer’s driver you would like included, please let us know – no guarantees on obscure stuff, but we’ll do our best].
Casting and Stream: We will be featuring a minimum of two streams for this event: One for SC2, and one for LoL. megumixbear has volunteered to host/cast for us, as well as we would still like to continue with the casting competition concept. More featured casters to be announced.
Things should be set this time so as not to have bumps/breaks in the stream, and we will hopefully have more support from Twitch.TV this go around as well, so the stream will be even more enjoyable. Last time we had >600 unique views, so we'd definitely like to increase that!
Showcase/Competition: Teams of Casters will rotate casting matches throughout the day, and will be judged/voted on for enjoyment of casting experience. Winners will receive a prize, as well as have the opportunity to cast the Winner’s Finals and Grand Finals alongside a famous caster (TBA)! Subject to change, full details pending on this.
