I've stopped caring about ELO and now all I do is try to get better at top lane. Every other lane, and even jungle, I can come out ahead or at least even by the end of the laning phase, but I often get pooped on top (either by getting straight up outplayed or ganked repeatedly while getting no assistance myself) and lose games because they have a fed hypercarry.
Normals are horrible for getting better at top lane because half the time the enemy team doesn't even have a jungle so it's an unwinnable 2v1 at top. So I play ranked, call top, and do my best not to lose. My best top laner by far is Riven, just because so many people derp really hard at level 1 when I have a creep advantage and let me FB them at level 2-3. My worst is Irelia, because for some reason I never feel like I've farmed enough with her to both be tanky AND do damage, and her early game is so weak I get bullied in lane by stronger laners.
So if anyone has any general tips for getting better at top lane, I would appreciate hearing them. Should I be getting a ward really early on to spot for jungles camping me? How do I lane against a strong laner when I'm behind them in gold/items? What do I do when I'm underfarmed in midgame and teamfights start breaking out? Should I be participating and hoping to do something, or should I be farming and hoping my team doesn't lose every single time? These kind of decisions are difficult for me as a top laner.

Woah woah woah when did this happen? I'm not too familiar with TSM, but it did always feel to me like him and Regi were clashing a lot, but not much more than say hotshot and saint do, and they still work together pretty well. Was/is Rainman living in the gaming house? Might be pretty awkward for him now if that's the case.

EUW with login queue and games not launching.

This happened last night. There's an announcement on Solomid.
I'm mostly upset about the fact that Epik is now pretty boned for the coming IPL4 in Vegas.
Yes TRM still lives in the house and continues to stream for TSM.

I just wish Epik had a little bit more structure, I feel that if they gave a little bit more time and care to their team, they could potentially be the best NA team. Now with Dyrus gone, I don't even know if they can do that...

Can someone give me an overview on the majority's take on vladimir?
Can't nerf or buff cus hes such a badly design champion.

Salce is graduating soon I believe so they'd been upping their activity soon. His school is the most limiting factor for their praccing. And now Dyrus leaves...
god I wish they could get aphromoo, he and nhat would finally be a bot lane worthy of the team and westrice could return to sololane what he likes to do most.

practice 1v1 until you are competent at most relevant matchups (for the ones you are uncomfortable with / you know are disadvantaged, learn to be able to farm without dying and backing appropriately without losing creep control, and push winning lanes by either freezing the wave at places to zone enemy from cs / exp or push and take down towers or kill enemy laner)
your practices should have some dying in them to learn one's limits very well, but after you find the general powercurves for each matchup you should play around them
yes buy a ward if you're afraid of the enemy jungler, especially if you end up pushing the wave a lot by the nature of your laner. if you know a general ganking time and path for the enemy jungler (CV ward or intuition and experience etc) you can try planning around said path in terms of pushing the wave and backing, but odd counterjungling and paths can mess with this.
depends on who your champion is, stacking multiple early defensive items on some champions really gimps their midgame (akali) but others are fine with it (malphite etc). wriggles is the ultimate compromise for most bruisers - it gives defensive stats (lifesteal and armor) while providing stronger creep control, especially for single target wave clearers as well as giving more counterjungling / golem / red taking ability.
if you're underfarmed and your enemy laner opts to stay top (and they don't have teleport up, if they have taken it at all) you can cede your tower and attempt to give your team the advantage by forcing 4v5s. if the enemy laner is a strong pusher, beware them taking too many towers in the meanwhile - you want to force quick decisive 4v5s
obviously if your team is winning very hard you probably don't need to do so, but if the rest of the lanes are very close or in a losing position it is worth helping them, especially if you would just be denied cs / lose your tower slowly regardless and your jungler cannot help you for fear of losing dragon control.

Just found out something funny : thornmail cancels Teemo's passive.
Was vs a WW who rushed Thormail, couldn't harass him anymore >.>

I've started to counterjungling with Warwick, but I don't know if it's cost effective. I do blue -> wolves -> ward red -> their golem. I believe that a lvl 2 ww is stronger than most jungler but I don't know if I should stick to this or just mind my own creeps :o

Personally, I really hate ganking top because it puts you wayyyyy out of position to affect most of what's going on in the game. You're far away from dragon, one buff, and 3/5 players on your team. For example, if dragon is up and I see the enemy jungler go top, I'm going to IMMEDIATELY take dragon for free and there's nothing your team can do about it.

You gank pre-6 before top has chance for wards. Top is the most easily ganked lane in the game, and also usually the one that snowballs the easiest. There is no dragon or buff threat that early in the game, especially if you ward your bot jungle entrance to see the invasion.
Later on, the lane can be a bitch to gank, and you need some clever manuevering to get past the wards. The idea is to let your top gain an early advantage and keep it, while you worry about the rest of the map and force their jungler to help out their losing top lane.
Obviously doesn't happen every game but it's very common.

i wasn't complaining and i dont believe in elo hell or anything like that. i just want to get better and was trying to figure out the best way to go about it. i feel like my last hitting is better than most at this level unless the support wont stop aa creep which makes it really hard but i still feel like i do well given that condition as well. I just want to get better so that i climb out of where i am. what other things in my game could i work on that really wouldn't be effected by other for lack of a better word idiot laners

The enemy team is just as retarded. Become the strongest player in the game -> wait until your team does something retarded and the enemy team attacks -> ambush them and kill them. Use teammates as baits or something. Get wriggles so that you can solo dragon and counterjungle when the situation arises. Ward properly for you and your team and ping when you see them and they probably will react. Etc.

Yeah Froggens Anivia is just insane. Wait what's the talk about trm not liking the competitive aspect of lol?
