The online qualifers will be available in standard quality for free. I watched standard quality during the Columbus event and was more than satisfied. It was probably the best free SC2 tournament event out there by far in terms of video quality. Lets just hope they can fix the audio for Anaheim!

I definitely think MLG is going in the right direction, their efforts have come a long way in helping the growth of the esports scene in the west, think of how many jobs are created and how all those invovled benefit from this. If only people weren't so materialistic : /

They currently are not giving me enough bonus content for me to foot the bill. I feel it is going to be their lifeline in 2012.

Yeah, Imean - is the ad revenue not enough for them like it seems to be for everyone else? You know, I wish my paycheck was fatter but I guess I just don't have the few thousand nerds to extort whenever I want.

Fixing the paywall should help too.... I wonder if a package will be available for the remaining events after the first event is completed. + Show Spoiler + (qualifiers+arena2+championship for $25? I guess the $30 package is still cheaper than buying the two "a la carte" options after the first event anyway; sales might increase accordingly with the price drop...undoubtedly requires more study to sort out the optimum price point, thanks for the data MLG!)

why not give gold members a free 480p stream for the arenas? just doesn't seem fair. I like that they've learned from their pricing, it seems pretty good for people like me who didn't invest in gold.

No gold means you are paying $30 4 times a year, which is $120. Thats $30 more. Even for the rest of the year, you spend $30 + $45 = $75 which is $15 cheaper than paying $30 for each season.

I don't feel that SC2, or gaming in general has gotten to the point where I would pay to see it. VODs are useless when you check the results anyway. That being said, good luck with your business ventures MLG, I know you're already doing quite well.

Just feels that I'm getting slightly fucked because of the area I live in. My internet connection speed is just not good enough to stream in HD, so the gold pass really hasn't been worth buying foe me until now. I do believe the pricing is fair though, I just wish they had sold the gold passes for a bit longer, as I would have picked one up now.

Does it convince me to get gold? nope. I love MLGs tournaments but they change their minds on pricing all the time and always put their events on just the right date as to interfere with another big event. They clearly haven't figured out everything just yet, so if I do get gold it will be in 2013 when they've figured out their shit.

All I was doing is pointing out that buying gold does save you money when people were saying it doesnt.
