Maybe because Fantasy denied Oz a Championship back in the previous PL Finals? XD

Jaedong did say that the PL finals were worth a whole lot more than the SL finals were to him. in the time i've followed bw, 3 years, i don't think oz has even made it past the regular season not in last or second to last place (excluding ace), much less the finals. maybe jd cares about PL finals because he doesn't get to go to them? ;P 2009, Oz made it to the finals against SKT, where Jaedong lost both his games to Fantasy, one of which being the Super Ace Match that determined everything. Jaedong had the PL victory within his reach after carrying his team like a monster all season, but in the end, just couldn't take it. Just a minor correction. The 2009 final didn't go to Super Ace. Fantasy closed it out in the 2nd day Ace Match (Game 7). If he had lost there would've still been the Super Ace to go. I actually expected Bisu to come out for the 2nd day Ace because Medusa was his map. Then Jaedong vs Fantasy on Destination. Needless to say that Jaedong's chances of preparing for and winning both those games were slim, particularly because he picked Outside as his map. Anyhow, I think Bisu seemed disappointed after that series, because he played great all season and then got outshone by fantasy in the last game.
SKT is so lucky to have two players like them competing for the spotlight.

Bisu usually does 1 of 3 things when something is on the line in PvT, and it's not 1 gate expo. He will do some 2 gate thing, like I said before, either 10/15 + range before 2nd pylon... faking that, like where he gets nexus ~20 off of 2 gates with MAYBE 1 goon, and range coming before goon, 12 nexus (duh, his teammate is best), or gas steal off of like his 5th-6th probe.
This is the first time I've seen Bisu do this exact 1 gate midmap timing on a gas steal. I don't see how he could be prepared for the timing at all, is all I'm saying. It's just a minor variation that I don't see how you prepare for. I feel like Flash was probably prepared more for something like a 1 gate gassteal where Bisu had his gate closer to his base, or closer to Flash's. The positioning of it being in Flash's face, and scouting path, was definitely intentional. Bisu wanted him to scout it.
Flash's early scout could merely be explained from, "I'm flash, I want a macro game, I'm not going to lose to some cheese" but, hey, that was some fine gouda... aged, too. I love how everyone claimed Flash's maphacks, when clearly Bisu did it in the most blatant in your face way possible, it requires balls of steel to do that on the final game I agree with the early scv scout timing was that he was probably expecting cheese, unlikely but maybe it was so obvious that he thought it might have been a fake Although have you forgotten when Bisu did a very similar build in the Winners League Final but expanded right off the 1 gate zealot pressure. I have a feeling Flash was expecting Bisu to do the exact same, but instead Bisu slammed down 2 more gateways before cyb. Metagame yo! EDIT: Also in the past Bisu often expanded after a gas steal like on Monte Cristo. All signs pointed to a similar build used when Bisu beat Flash in the Winners League final. Also, the commentators note that Bisu and Flash probably practiced and researched day and night to try winning when the Protoss went a proxy gate... It was almost understood between everyone that Bisu would use the map to his advantage and proxy...
Is it only me or is Flash really really aggressive killing the manner pylons? He like pulls off extra workers and marines to kill it as soon as possible... It would have been epic if Bisu stole Flash's second gas~

Flash and Bisu proxy each other all the time. Flash's first couple wins against Bisu were proxy rax IIRC. And last year, Flash tried to proxy rax Bisu in the MSL Group of Death. But Bisu found that one even though it was hidden. Although the Bisu's last win against Flash (Winner's League Finals) was simply a forward gate, it still shortens the distance and was still an aggressive play. So we can safely assume that both players expect each other to proxy.
I'm willing to bet money that had Flash not seen a proxy gate way, he would have built his own proxy rax.

What interviews are you talking about? The one right after the Ace Match? There was nothing interesting said. Both coaches just saying how they will work hard next season as well. Bisu saying how he felt vulnerable after his drop failed but speedlots proved to be handy in the end. Fantasy saying a thing or two about his match but nothing interesting.
If you're talking about the press conference, then there REALLY wasn't anything interesting said. The only real question was "Who else practiced for the Ace Match and why was Bisu sent in the end?" to which Coach Park answered "Fantasy was also preparing for the Ace match and to be honest I didn't know who I was going to send until last second. When looking at Bisu's glare, I knew he would prove to be the better choice because it seemed he had the fire in his eyes."
Other than that, there were no post-game interviews..

One more thing - watching and now rewatching the game, I noticed Flash somehow got his gas stolen a second time. The first assimilator dies at 6:20-ish on the VOD (note: before Flash has expanded); the second one is started here at about 7:00. I can't fathom why Flash let this happen. The VOD suggests he was saving for the expansion which goes down about 7:45. This expansion was actually faster than Bisu's - famous Flash greed, to all appearances. He eventually gets a refinery at 9:00 - you can see on the minimap and just barely see the edge of the constructing SCV here. Even if Flash was planning to rax-expand with no gas at the beginning of the game, that still is a minimum delay of about 2:15+ in getting gas, 1:30 or so of which was completely avoidable (refinery immediately after killing the first assimilator) and which can probably take about 70% of the blame for Flash's eventual loss, even if the game did go on for a while.
As a result of his pressure through the middle, the second assimilator stays up until 10:50 when the second refinery does go down immediately: Flash doesn't have his second gas online until 9 minutes into the game! In contrast, Bisu's 3rd base is starting at 9:00 gametime (11:36 VOD - minimap again). On those kind of terms, the drop Flash managed was cute but he simply got out-economied (which possible justifies the CC-before-gas to attempt to stay even but possibly doesn't - on the other hand if the probe doesn't get in to drop the second assimilator that's a hugely different game.)
Bisu was ahead on my reading from the early pressure but that second gas steal combined with Flash's particular decision-making (and a little blind counter luck to finish) put the game out of reach from about 8 minutes in.

He was forced into mnm/tank style because of bisus's early aggression. If it was on any other map, flash would've done a standard 1 rax fe into vult/tank or something and had mines to defend vs that speed zealot and would've been a more fair game.
That mnm/tank strategy is normally meant to make one huge timing "han-bang" rush to his nat and contain him there since all his gateways are in his main. But I think flash felt like bisu had more units than he did so that's why he went around behind that small tight spot behind bisus's main so that bisu would have to spend more resources trying to kill it in that tight little spot than if it were in an open spot.
But flash is just chillin behind bisus main, he's not containing him at his nat so the zealots are free to counter to flash's base. It's quite unfortunate that flash had to play bisu on this map. Good on sk for picking this map, bad for me as flash fan

Honestly, I would have liked seeing Flash bunker rush in the last game, Boxer-style. The map is really bad for Terran anyway.

Just watched the vods HOLY SHIT SO AMAZING

The only reason for me to want Flash to bunker rush the last game would be if Bisu blocked it and the outcome was the same. Bunker rush would have been a lame Ace match to such an entertaining series.

The team doesn't win any money, because SK provided the prize pool anyway. It was all for the glory, and that's one great thing that puts BW on another level to other esports, just like other sports the prize pool isn't what the players are after, its the trophy.

I thought this picture really captured the finals well. imo.

Money it just meh, compared to this. Especially considering that SK was sponsoring this Proleague. Well he's a full-time sc2 dude, obviously. I don't think any of the BW people knows or cares about the prize tbh. I don't know, or even so much as thought about the prize, for one. I mean, who gave a crap about monnie when you beat Flash .. twice in a single match!.. xD
in my 7 years watching bw, i have never cared about the prize moneys lol, that's an sc2 thing i guess,my friends that play sc2 always tell me go play sc2 you can make money and that kind of stuff, i dont know about other ppl, but to me bw is beyond money.

Flash gives all of his winnings to his parents anyways, who then put it in a bank. AFAIK, Flash's family is financially sound anyways.
Watched the game 4 times now (twice in korean, twice by different english commentators) Flash really needed to scout much earlier in the game. He didn't know if Bisu expanded or added gateways (he got 1) and he pushed out with too few marines and SCVs. This goes back to Flash Greed, which ultimately cost him the game. With better scouting info, he could have chosen to play defensively.
That, and Bisu's probe stayed a live way too long for Flash to have any chance at winning this game. Progamers cannot let their opponents have complete knowledge of their build and expect to win, especially in the early game.
Cheese= Win Fantasy > JD Proxy Rax Bunker rush Hyuk < Flash 3 base timing attack Best < Flash Fast 4 base Bisu > Flash Proxy Gate zealot rush
