To verify, I'm a high level master player hoping to get in GM pretty soon but school has been holding me back recently mainly because my major is ridiculously hard for me. (Insert math class QQ here) I feel like this tournament would be a great way to get my name out there in the Starcraft 2 community as I plan on trying to play professionally on a team after I graduate from college. And as for my votes increasing, I have a lot of friends (and family) that want to see me make it into this event because they feel like I really have what it takes to play with some of these high level players. I've done nothing to cheat the voting system or anything stupid like that, just asked that my friends all over the country to vote for me so I can have this opportunity to play live instead of sitting around waiting for MLG to come to the eastern US during the summer again. EDIT: Also, GO TARHEELS SC2! WOOO! Who needs national basketball championships when you can play in national CSL tournaments! We're coming for you guys next year in CSL, watch yo backs.

I've never heard of those other, but it sounds like you aren't hyping your favorite enough. Jerred is an informative streamer and solid player. You should vote for him

This is getting a lot of people who don't follow the e-sports scene really hyped that a fellow student could play in the all star game. People who had no idea the CSL or high-level SC2 even existed are getting pumped. I think that's amazing for the game.

Not many people know me in the Starcraft 2 community right now. That doesn't mean that I'm terrible at the game or I'm not deserving of playing in this tournament.... In fact, isn't that what this tournament (and the CSL in general) is all about? Up and coming players in universities who don't yet have the opportunity to have a following in the SC2 community or have the chance to join a professional team?

UNCJer is actually borderline GM at times, though his current season record does not show it. He was a star in the CSL, being UNC's carrying player a lot of the time. There is no foul play for Jerred. To be borderline GM you'd have to be #1 ranked masters + top 50 rank masters in the whole NA + getting -12 +12 pts in match history vs GM players; UNCjer does not have those stats no offense. I think the players who have no TLPD record / ELO rank in TL should have less of a chance of winning then players who win/get far in huge tourneys. The only players I see on the protoss voting list that are TLPD wins are Yata, Caliber, CUHZ, and eXo,

And I'll be top in my master league division this season as soon as I finish this 10 page paper that's due tomorrow. T.T lol.

He has beaten GMs in the past, such as Inca, Incontrol, White-Ra, Pandan, Painuser, Future, HongunPrime, etc. I saw him get matched against IdrA just the other day (don't know how that turned out).

But yea, I think I'm quite capable of making GM or beating more high level pros if I had more time to practice (such as during the summer when this tournament occurs). :D

Not letting people vote because they aren't TL members is elitist and anti-community. I agree with Jerred, the point of the event is to bring people into the community and showcase lesser known players then only letting the TL regulars vote completely defeats the purpose of the event. <-- Not a lurker and also guilty of voting for Jerred :D

We're coming for you guys next year in CSL, watch yo backs. unc csl manager here, confirming: uncjer(jerred "macdaddy" miklowcic) in charge of carrying the team. Seriously though, he has a lot of fans here, from friends and people watching our games streamed. It isn't undeserved, he has (I think) the longest win streak in CSL history this season. I'm not sure it's fair to complain that he is doing very well in the poll, as we've been putting so much time into building the community here that number looks reasonable to me. If the tournament were going to use ladder rank to pick players, they wouldn't bother polling at all. Obviously if someone is tampering the votes, it should be fixed but the number I see (~330) looks reasonable. If he's made a vote bot, it's of really poor quality. I've seen/helped him with CS homework in the past, and it isn't THAT awful. Just close.

Anyone can get matched vs idra if searching at the right time; it all depends how many pts you Lose when you lose; or how many pts idra Wins when he beats u that determines how close of an MMR u have with him. and UNCjer was 1190 pts last season with about 250/250 games win/lose 50% win ratio. not 1300. nd Borderline GM level is 1350-1400 pts last season (not including mass games)
