UNCjer was 1190 pts last season. not 1300. nd Borderline GM level is 1350-1400 pts last season (not including mass games)
Well actually if you go to sc2ranks you can see that Jerred got up to 1250 midway through the season when he was playing frequently and was right around being a top 50 masters player.

There is no foul play for Jerred. To be borderline GM you'd have to be #1 ranked masters + top 50 rank masters in the whole NA + getting -12 +12 pts in match history vs GM players; UNCjer does not have those stats no offense. I think the players who have no TLPD record / ELO rank in TL should have less of a chance of winning then players who win/get far in huge tourneys. The only players I see on the protoss voting list that are TLPD wins are Yata, Caliber, CUHZ, and eXo, I did say at times. This season, he doesn't have that, I gotcha. He has beaten GMs in the past, such as Inca, Incontrol, White-Ra, Pandan, Painuser, Future, HongunPrime, etc. I saw him get matched against IdrA just the other day (don't know how that turned out). Anyone can get matched vs idra if searching at the right time; it all depends how many pts you Lose when you lose; or how many pts idra Wins when he beats u that determines how close of an MMR u have with him. and UNCjer was 1190 pts last season with about 250/250 games win/lose 50% win ratio. not 1300. nd Borderline GM level is 1350-1400 pts last season (not including mass games)
At the end of the season, yes, he was 1190. He did say 2 weeks prior to that. And just being paired against that number of GMs...well I thought that was decent (the number is much higher than I listed). I'm all for UNCJer, and I really believe he deserves the shot.

Yea, and we're all paired up with Gms as well ^.^ I personally made friends with tsl_hyun and ogsvines due to the numerous encounters I've had with them ^.^

nm, i just learnt how TLPD works, listed as Dime either way.

well lookin at his sc2ranks / career history; i see a lot of rank 7 masters, and rank 1,100+ region in a lot of seasons; I'm just saying a lot of people say they are "borderline GM" when they actually don't know what borderline GM really means.
swinging from 1300 pts to 1200 pts means you reached your real MMR to pts indicator. Some players go on a win streak, cheese and get easy wins, then get higher mmr, then lose to the new players because their true skill isnt the same as their current Pts; so they lose and get placed in their actual pts/mmr area that they belong in; It's kind of hard to get GM with 50% win ratio and a lot of games played; Just throwing that out there.
And to post wins/ losses in CSL record; You have to take account into the players they played; Some players played easy players hence maybe got lucky with what order they were put in line up; while others had tuff opponents every week.

Caliber went 6-3. Should we really discount someone because they don't have a couple of losses in a Go4SC2 cup listed?
UNCjer really deserves the vote based on his fantastic CSL performance. There are many "star" players who don't bother with CSL and just shows up few times. Kudos to him

JDM, I had an extremely bad losing streak at the end of the season so yes, I was 1190 at the end of the season. I go on tilt a lot on ladder. If you look at the rank over time graphs you can see that I was indeed at 1300 points about 2 weeks before the end of the season.
Also, thanks for that stalife, coming from an outstanding player such as yourself that really means a lot.

Uh wait isn't this the CSL All-Star tournament? Shouldn't it be based on CSL performance more than anything else?

if you did go on a big losing streak at end of season; your new record this season should be outstanding; but it isnt; I'm not hating I'm just stating facts about what it means to be Borderline GM and not everyone can throw it out there and say that they are GM (when they never were) and brag about it.

JDM, he didn't bring it up. I was the one who mentioned it. That was me. I still believe he was borderline, sure on the lower side of borderline, but borderline. With a little bit more time, I think he could've made it, but dudeman has such a rough schedule.
All of that said, the main reason I posted was to say that UNCJer is absolutely not cheating, in no way and in no form. That's the main point of all of this. The rest of it is just defending that he is an outstanding player.

ah ok my mistake; but yeah I guess this CSL thing is more of a spam / get ppl to spam popularity vote rather then actual skill/performance in the sc2 scence. ahh well i just hope the best players deserve to get sent to play to put on a great show.

Regardless, the csl staff people are going to investigate this event. Let's keep this thread clean of drama.

Yea, good call noobeater. Good luck to everyone involved, and hopefully I'll get the chance to play with you guys in June!

I just realized iMpEndymion isn't on this ballot for zerg o.o. #1 ELO on CSL page (which to be fair is from last season and not updated), 13-0 this season for his school, which happens to be 15-2 as well. Guess he just doesn't have much name recognition

We will be investigating any potential vote fraud. In this case it doesn't look like it based on preliminary looking into it. We do really love the fact that people are rallying their communities and friends behind their favorite players, this is exactly what we hoped to achieve with this!
We also have other good news to announce regarding the All Stars this weekend!

Announcements announcing announcements are really cruel ~_~

Lurker here. I'd like to offer my input:
CSL is a great way to involve many people within the E-sports world. Here at UNC, we try to get streams of the CSL games running if the opposing team allows it, and we advertise the streams and generally try to get people to watch the games as we would basketball.
Jerred (UNCjer) is the one who brought many of us into the E-sports world. We have our own E-sports club and hold monthly LAN events with Starcraft as one of the main draws, sometimes getting visitors from as far as Asheville, NC (over 3.5 hours away!)
Also, glhf to everyone working on any assignments!

Jerred (UNCJer) definitely deserves this. He's a great, strategic, smart player, and a good guy in general.
I think the player chosen should be based on popularity in addition to raw skills - that is the point of an all-star tournament is it not?
