Another intent argument. It's funny when ya'll say things like "we know" because it's this weird agreement amongst a lot of the white people here about what they agree racism is. It's not up to the people offended (or god forbid actual fucking people of color) to decide what offends them and who is a racist, we need all the whites to tell everyone what racism really is!

How did this get to 113 pages so fast LOL... Classic TL moments.

Also, I've never been a part of a community that has been so hard pressed on killing each other left and right with those shiny pitch forks. So it's a tad bit of a /facepalm for me.

I'm straight and I can tell you that calling people a faggot when you're upset that they beat you is homophobic language.

Here's the thing. They only have meaning if you let them have meaning. So don't let them have meaning, and don't attract it by making a thread about it.

And why do you feel the need to use a curse word in every sentence I consider that worse than destinys choice of adjective towards terrans or other people, it's all open for debate on this matter so again if you don't like it don t watch and listen.

Well, everyone posting in this thread thinks they are, and just like every other forum about video games it's really embarrassing. Everyone is prepared to tell Destiny how he should behave, and tell everyone arguing with that how they should think, but very few are prepared to actually debate someone in this thread without the prejudice that they're a racist idiot for disagreeing (or agreeing with Destiny's position).
Anyone who tells me "we can all agree X", or who cares "what Destiny is" is not an expert on anything that passes for real debate.
Regardless of what the outcome is here, it's clear again that a great many people have no business discussing these things (and aren't putting in much effort). If a bunch of thoughtless bandwagoning puts Destiny out of a job, I'll be a little bit saddened (~NOT RACIST~)

How the fuck do you even breathe From context it doesn't even seem like the OP was Korean, the OP just bm'd Destiny and got rage in return. There's a huge difference between using slurs and being a racist. No. There isn't. If you're using racist slurs against people you are a fucking racist. How much of this fucking thread is white people making arguments about intent as though a person of color, or minority, or Korean GIVES A FUCK how he meant it, why is everyone falling over themselves to view this only from the perspective of a white male (it is because the vast majority of you are white males and this the only goddamn thing you can relate to, you are so broken you cannot even fathom people having different lives or experiences than the one you've had). Even if Steven called someone who wasn't a korean that word that doesn't make it a not racist word and it doesn't mean he wasn't clearly using it in a bigoted way.
Yes, a great number of people care a great deal about intent. Intent is what makes words meaningful in the first place, I have no idea where you get off thinking vocabulary has some sort of objective force all its own.
You are a bigot who just referred to every white male in this thread as a "broken" person who "cannot even fathom people...", you need to seriously re-evaluate your own life and examine the unjustified hatred you clearly feel against an ethnicity you may or may not belong to.

And then everyone would just spout racial slurs Thats where your wrong i dont use racial slurs becouse im afriad of anything i dont use them becouse i dont like to use them, thats how it should be. Same with a political debate you should be allowed to debate anyone even Adolf hitler and then prove him wrong. We cant lie becouse then whats the point of humanity, if we live in a lie. And we are not living in Communist/Gestapo land. That have nothing to do with sc2 but think about it. He should be allowed to say it and take consiquenses for it. We know hes not a racist so maybe what he says donst mean that much right. Jesus I hate this community The difference is i don't give a fuck and i don't whine

Okay but do you understand how a person who has lived with racism and who has a lifetime of experiencing subtle and overt racism all their lives might be more of an expert on what is racist than some white nerd who posts on insular internet forums. Or a gay person & etc

I'm not sure what you mean. Can I not make philosophical claims? If not me, who can? Let me be clear: I am not arguing the proposition "no one has a right to express themselves in racist language" is true in virtue of my saying it, I am arguing it is true simpliciter. Obviously the topics themselves "go beyond" what I think, since the topics include thousands of opinions, scholarly publications, philosophers, possible opinions, and whatever else it takes to be a "topic".
If you think my claim is wrong, then I would be interested to hear your counterargument, and maybe you can convince me destiny has a moral right to use racist language. The reason I posted my original argument is because I suspect that much of the attempts to justify destiny's behavior depend on the equivocation I disambiguated between political and moral rights. I would be willing to bet destiny's own rationalizations of his behavior involve a similar confusion.
