It's time for Teamliquid to change its slogan to "Proffessional StarCraft 2 news" because there won't be anymore proffessional StarCraft 1. All I can hope for now is that Blizzard makes StarCraft 2 good with Legacy of the void. If they don't make it a good replacement for Brood War (Not the same, but equally good) then StarCraft has been mutilated forever. Esports will never be legitimate with shit like this. I felt like we actually had a chance with StarCraft. It lasted for so many years, and became deeper the longer time went on, like Chess. Chess now compared to hundreds of years ago is so different. Imagine what StarCraft could have become if it had lasted as long. But no, we had to change game again. Esports will always be regarded as a fucking joke compared to normal sports, and games like chess, as long as this is the way it operates, and unless StarCraft 2 becomes as good as StarCraft 1 with the last expansion, StarCraft 2 will eventually be replaced by another game as well. Hell, even if it does become good apparently that's not enough, as we saw with StarCraft 1. There will never be a stable esports industry like football or basketball.

The big names have a big number of fans. If they severely underperform or quit, then what happens to those fans? SC2 needs all the Korean fans that it can get if it wants the transition to be successful. The organizers are hoping that fans of the players and teams will follow them through the transition to become fans of the actual game, so any hiccup in this process would be a huge blow. There is a ton of PR fluff going around, so we may never really know their true thoughts on SC2 other than through speculation and reading between the lines whenever they talk about it. Read the article about the BW coaches talking about SC2: http://notyuna.parkjiyeon.net/post/21468962777/sc2-discussion-with-kespa-progaming-team-coaches It seems that players are enjoying playing SC2, some of them would have retired even if they had to keep playing BW.

Most people on this site have no idea how many proleagues have appeared and disappeared on OGN and MBC in the time since Starcraft became notable. Lots of games have just gone away. Anybody here still playing competitive Atrox?
