i totally feel the same way
i definately believe eating is a psychological thing, some people just want to eat more. being a naturally skinny guy with little to no appetite it's hard for me to fit in 2000 calories a day... i have to think eat eat eat drink milk ah crap i gotta go to the washroom and repeat the process.

if I did that then I'd never lose weight i've been going to bed hungry on most days for the past few months and I havent lost as much as I would have wanted to.. everyone is different. im constantly hungry and craving cookies and other forbidden things - or even healthy foods like steaks and cottage cheese. I just cant get enough of it portion/hunger control is hard for people who used to be fat. I think I read an article about it once that stated people who used to be overweight are more likely to struggle their whole life with wanting to eat more than they should.

Someone linked that a couple months ago, it is a really good article if you are interested in nutrition and obesity research.
Personally if I don't write down everything that I eat, I will overeat every single day. I can have twelve 500kcal portions or five 1500kcal portions, I won't ever be full (though satisfied, but that won't stop me from eating more, since it just was so satisfying...). That's probably what you get for building 20 years of bad habbits.
That being said, 9kg to go and three months time. By now I have forgotton how lifting with a rested body and enough calories feels like, it has been so long

Sucks, it would be so convenient for some of us to trade appetites for awhile

I've stopped cutting, but I'm not really on a proper bulk. I just make rough estimates of my calorie intake and try to stay around 3k. McDonalds makes it really easy, 4 big macs and you got like 2k (and I could shove in two more no problem), but I feel like that's probably not an ideal diet, despite what Rippetoe thinks.

Yeah usually the problem is the easiest foods to really eat a ton of are not the best for your health. Like with McDonald's I could easily eat 2k calories in a meal like you said but I just know that wouldn't be good for me. Ever seen Super Size Me? :S

4 McDoubles and a medium fries is just under 2k. With a pop there's no question. Sure you start to feel full but it's just so easy to eat another burger! Now I'm hungry and I've got 2+ hours til lunch haha

That's the reason I started to eat more times a day.
10am, 12m, 3-4pm, 8pm, and a snack or fruits at 10 or something haha.

Well the fries and the pop is the worst, and they never did a supersize me where the guy was working out along with the "diet"

But yeah, eating more times does alleviate the issue but it's still a pain if you don't even feel like eating.

Deadlift monday. New Pr at 117kg x 6 but my form was so shitty it barely counts. Been sleeping really badly these last couple days, for no reason that I'm aware of, and its starting to get to me. Gotta get my shit together.
edit: hey I'm reasonably fit these days and I still think sex is often more work than it's worth :p

fuck ya 100KG clean (11lb PR) on my first workout in 3 weeks :D Tweaked my back a bit though.. going to have to take it easy on oly lifting and work on my DL. Also, my clean max is now 5 lb away from my front squat max haha. Gotta get my strength up

Up to 165 lb squats for 5x5 today. Fourth set felt difficult, because I was leaning forward, but as long as I focus on form (sit down, not back, keep chest high, look up, spread floor) I don't have any back/hip problems.
Did back extensions, side planks, foam rolling and stretching, and single leg hamstring stuff as well.
Incline DB bench 55 lbs 10-8-8-8 Tried to do triceps/chest fly machine after that, but my shoulders felt very tight, so I figured I'd just go home. Still not sure how exactly to structure my workouts, because I'm used to 4 workouts/week, and I can't handle LP squatting more than 3x. Might make sunday a "just upper body" day, not sure yet.
Also meeting a surprising amount of guys who do Oly at my gym... probably know four or five of them now who go regularly. It's like they just appeared out of nowhere, pretty awesome.

Had a good day today. Was playing around with hand positioning and foot positioning with my deadlift. Found out that having my hands and legs a little bit closer together felt better. Set a new 5kg PR of 160kg! Even a 'simple' lift like DL there's always more little technique things to figure out.

Here's another one that totally agree. Last week I didn't have full dicipline and I only averaged about 3350 kcal per day resulting in a weightloss of 0,5 kilos or over a pound.
Bulking for me is way harder because my body is on a natural cutting mode.

UGH shitty session, spent 30 min arguing with a friend who refused to take his bench down to touch his chest, his range of motion was like 5 inches from his chest. THIS is why I fucking train alone, so irritating. ANY WAYS
deadlift: 385x7, 405x3x1, 365x5 OHP: 155x4, 135x8
one handed dumbbell press: 70x3x5
dumbbell row: 85x5x10

Get all hyped for 2x BW 180kg deadlift, slam out six reps within 10 seconds and it turns out it was 160kg. Gee. Gee.
Pulled 180x1 afterwards though, so I guess it took me 436 days to get from failing 40kg to slamdunking 180.
