I made a huge ass 6'7 dude with lots of checking and did this: 30 minutes of penalties in one shift, and 40 for the game. I did a cross ice run on a guys, boarding him and injuring him, and on the delayed penalty, I came back around and drilled him again in the numbers when he got back up. I rule. Retail hits shelves on Tuesday! Maybe we can get a TL connected league if enough people are interested

i played NHL '13 for about an hour. I'm going back to NHL '94. Its more fun. once Doan is gone and you look at the Coyotes roster and payroll. can it really be considered an NHL team?

If Doan doesn't return, the only thing that roster will have going for it will be the D. Yandle, Ekman-Larson and Michalek are all pretty good defensemen. I still think Mike Smith, like Brian Elliot, is an average goalie benefitting from a great coach with a great defensive system I think Vrbata is an average forward without Doan and The Wizard to open things up for him. Thinking Sullivan is gonna replace Wizard is insane. Vermette seems like the type of guy that would be best used in a system where he is a complimentary player to skill guys, not one where he is one of the best guys. Korpikowski and the others, third liners, maybe tweeners at best.

Which of course is really depressing the shit out of me. Going to try to figure out how to get youtube to play 82 random hockey games from all the seasons strung together over the year for me to give an illusion of hockey being on.

I would imagine that the PA definitely uses the WC as leverage. I could see big name players, esp the Russian ones, threatening to take multiyear KHL deals. speaking of the KHL, supposedly they are streamed on the xbox espn app?? You can obviously find them on various stream sites. bonus nhl13 stuff since I can't stop laughing at it!

The NHL will not substantially alter its limited revenue sharing scheme. There is no way owners of teams like the Leafs, Flyers and Canucks are handing over giant piles of money to Phoenix and Nashville. The NHL solution is just to lower salaries across the board making teams like Phoenix and Nashville self sustaining while allowing the Leafs and Flyers profits to skyrocket.

Looks like we might have a season after all. Cap reduction with no salary rollback though, I wonder how that's going to work. Guess a few Canucks are going to see some more time on IR

A few pointed notes. If the fifty-fifty split were in last year the salary cap would have been 63 million instead of 67 for reference. Other key terms include: - Contracts limited to 5 years. - Players become UFAs at 28 or after eight years of service. For reference, players could become UFAs by 25 or after seven years of service - Entry-level contracts could be as low as two years instead of three. - CBA term expires in six years instead of seven. - 200 million in league revenue pool to help small market teams. - Arbitration still stands I think it's about time that we get rid of those unruly contracts and as I said before. I would never sign a guy for more than five years myself so this is right up my alley. Other key points I like is teams being able to keep their young players longer to build-up the fan-base and longevity of a team's core by restricting them to UFA status until they're well-established. More emphasis on youth.

also do not like UFA at 28/8 vs 25/7. As far as competition, it kills roster turnover, and from a player persecptive, it kneecaps earnings bigtime. Most players dont make it 10+ years in the league. It will take them 8 years to get their true market value, since you wont get that as an RFA. at any rate, at least these are reasonable negotiation terms. I dont think the PA accepts though, but does send a reasonable counter offer.

I rather cheer for a lot of the same guys instead of having guys come in and out. Unless you are a franchise player, five years is more than acceptable to me. Remember I told you Hawk I wouldn't even consider signing a guy for more than five years because of injuries and other complications. Yes, it does knee cap the players and that's one of the reasons they will say no. The average lifespan of a player in the NHL is actually closer to five and six years. Over half of all NHL players play less that 100 games during their career and for approximately 5 percent of players, their first NHL game is also their last. If we look at this from a different angle, long careers are extremely rare. Only 4 percent of players (that's 1 out of 25) dress up for more than 1000 games. So for them to get their full market value? I don't man. That's for guys who will have an actual NHL career.
