When I use screen region as a source everything just gets inexplicably laggy and choppy. Windows animations will even look laggy even though the computer doesn't feel bogged down at ALL. In LoL it'll tell me I have a 110 fps but it feels sub 30. I'm on Windows 8 right now but I've had this problem for over a year in Windows 7 too. I have no clue how to fix it but it's been killing me for over a year now if anyone has any tips please let me know! You cannot stream with screen region with Windows 8. It lags everything. I suspect all of OBS/XSplit/FFsplit will need to do some updating before they can work fine. To get around this I've created two scenes: one for when I'm playing the game, which uses 'Window Source' rather than 'Monitor Source'. This doesn't lag at all, but doesn't show anything apart from the game. Then when I want to show other stuff like browsers or what not, I switch to the other scene which is the 'Monitor Source', since FPS doesn't matter for that stuff.

This will provide a decent alternative but I do hope I'll be able to stream without a problem popping up each time soon. I'm actually pretty sure I had the same problem in Windows 7 too but I can't be sure anymore since it's been a while but I've had similar problems with other programs for the last year.

You're asking why is it disconnecting for you? I would have to have more information -- your connection, your settings, whether you're dropping frames.. When twitch decides to disconnect someone it's not always apparent as to why.. Sometimes it's because you drop too many frames, sometimes it's because your framerate is too wild or something, it could be any number of reasons. I would have to have more information about your setup to get a good idea as to what's going on.

720p @60fps, medium preset CPU is an i5-2500k Oced to 4.6 Why are you trying to use Medium preset? Use Veryfast unless you have good understanding and reason not to. Medium is many times harder to encode at for very little gains.

I'm confident that I have the hardware - but I don't know about the settings... GPU: 7950 CPU: i5 (Old version, think it's at 3,3GHz) RAM: 8GB Network: 100/10 Fiber (in reality I get 94/13~) Here's a VOD from yesterday (nvm about sound, I forgot I had it muted :p): http://sv.twitch.tv/nvrland1/b/338488080 You can totally see that there's no flow in the video and that's what I would like to improve! The settings I'm using atm is: Encoding Video Quality: 6 Max Bitrate: 5000 Buffer Size: 1000 Video Resolution downscale: 2x (960x540) (I've tried 1080p, 720p and this but the lag is unaffected by stream res) FPS: 60 The CPU preset is at "veryfast". Thankful for any help!

I have the microphone switched to off in the program and the speaker one to on which enables OBS to stream my sound I suppose. Now when I watch on my laptop, and this goes for my mate as well, the audio will echo itself constantly for some reason. Anyone know how I might fix it? Are you sure you don't have your stream open in the background without being muted?
