hey all
so for about the past week i've been having lag issues while watching streams on twitch.tv. watching streams on own3d work like a charm. but i can't even watch twitch streams on the lowest quality setting.
recent speet test: http://www.speedtest.net/result/2246612936.png
also i've been told that comcast (my provider) throttles twitch.tv but i don't know how reliable that is.
anyone have a fix? anyone have any information about this? is it a twitch.tv server problem?
thanks! <3

**** additional information **** browser is chrome. pc is more than capable of handling watching streams. this has only been happening for about a week now. no issues with own3d streams (i can watch destiny at 1080p)

I'm experiencing the same lag on all browsers...only with twitch as well... and only for the past week or so... located in northern CA with comcast provider mega-blast... ~26-30 Mbits/s

ya own3d is fine maybe its a comcast/twitch thing?

thanks for sharing the thread on twitch... seems like everyone who uses comcast for internet is essentially unable to watch twitch streams. So hopefully they figure this out soon.

Known throttling issue from Comcast... we have all pretty much lost hope. It has been going on for months for some people. Even 480p streams are choppy.

Hey guys, not to jinx me but mine has been fine for a while, but just found this... see if it works...
WATCH ALL TWITCH STREAMS FROM ---------> "en.twitch.tv" <--------- THIS SITE
even tho twitch is working well for me, the en.twitch site works a hair better... I bet it's night and day when having throttling probs...

Wow, thanks Dyami, I haven't been able to watch anything on www.Twitch.tv for days, the pages just would not connect. My internet is shitty at times, but it is also capable of watching 1080p+, but just wasn't connecting to Twitch (or www.Justin.tv, I think). Does that mean justin.tv and twitch.tv have changed their exact domain or something (I can't think what the www./en./bg./fi./it. is called) so that www.justin/.tv no longer refers to them or is it just that some ISPs' connections to the servers are dodgy? (i.e. Mine too)

Fuchsteufelswild,
We haven't changed a thing. Twitch.tv is still the main way to enter the site, but various ISPs filter us or outright block us from time to time, in which case using a sub-domain (such as en.twitch.tv) may work if they blocked us incompetently. More likely, your ISP is caching DNS when it shouldn't.
