Who cancelled aside from the couple of people who we already knew about? Where is this information coming from? Edit: Are you referring to this: "(2)GanZi replaces qxc. HwangSin replaces HayprO, who retired from Starcraft II. MaSsan replaces SeleCT, who retired from Starcraft II. MajOr replaces Suppy. Leenock replaces Axslav. LeiYa replaces ParanOid. Drewbie replaces DBS. Ret replaces Ziktomini. Apocalypse replaces HappyZerg. Illusion replaces BlinG. Sasquatch replaces MaNa," or were there a bunch more cancellations?

They seem to have each player stuck with a group. So if you have stephano losing to violent and then violent losing you would have a rematch if stephano win in the loser bracket. Please tell me this isn't true. Double-brackets are a decent way of ranking the players, but if players who have already met aren't put into opposite sides of the bracket, the whole point of the bracket-system is lost. You're trying to ensure the correct ranking by giving players a second life after a loss and matching them up against different opponents, not by matching them up against the same players again (until as late as possible in the tournament, which should be the lower-bracket final).

Its true, all the matches that happened in the upper bracket will occur in LR4 again. Maybe it was deliberately done to have rematches happen and continue storylines, but it is strange to have such a system.

It is going to be one hell of a long power-rank, but they might cut out some foreigners because: a) They have little to no accomplishments beyond a few online cups and qualifying b) Just not big names that are worth writing about with such small amounts of information Just thinking about writing a good paragraph for each player is insane, and I doubt that every TL writer has the time or knowledge to write about every 72 players.

They usually cut the power rank at 30 or so players, then list " close but not quite there " ones.

I guess they might lump the players that go below the Grubby-line as the "Qualified" players with just a few blurbs or a generalized paragraph describing their combined achievements or something like that.

I got it as well; going to be interesting to see how it goes. if anything else, hey, get to hang out around las vegas. IPL also said there will be a special get-together on Thursday night with the pro-gamers as well. The tournament will begin on Thursday, November 29th with a special VIP access only day. Here, VIP ticket holders will be able to access the venue a day before anyone else, and there will even be a special get together with the pro players on Thursday night! Additionally, there will still be at least four HD streams covering the event for those of you at home. from the IPL5 mainpage. Looking forward to this and perhaps meeting other people from here and around the world. hopefully there will be some sort of meetups going on.
