I felt it was strongly hinted that it was due to her being more valuable when being sold into prostitution due to looking different.

I'd rather the series be more like Lost than Heroes. You catch my drift? ya? ya

The titans would almost be comical if this manga wasn't so utterly brutal.

You know, the horrible coordination, the weird-ass facial expressions, the walking in ridiculous fashions? Also, that titan that tore at its face in response to the stress of getting yelled at by the scout. The titans would almost be comical if this manga wasn't so utterly brutal. They're like children ripping the wings off flies.

Pretty much why the "intelligent" titans tear through like 10-20 before going down simply because they can better direct their actions even if their physical strength is similar (bar the colossal titan obviously, maybe the armored one too but they haven't really shown his combat capability yet-until next chapter).

Berserk is better, but claymore is awesome and not far behind. Gantz is also good if you like this manga. Also, thx a ton for showing me this new manga. I'm hooked!

If anyone likes Gantz you should have read Battle Royale already and maybe BTOOM! (which basically a bomberman version of it but not that depth in characters' background stories). And if you like to read this kind manga of gore + character/s keep dying/getting tortured, i recommend these two relatively new manga which i like: A Class manga, will probably made into anime soon: Tokyo Ghoul, http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/東京喰種 And the full of 'wtf moments' Terra formers: http://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/火星異種

The dumb titans act like nasty kids breaking their toys. Eating because it´s an instinct, not because they need food. Thoughts, wouldn´t it be a good idea to arm the human titans with big melee weapons? They would be able to use their full strength without breaking down their bodies.

The main character will probably stop smashing up his fists every time he punches when he learns how to harden his hands.

I was also for the most part happy and impressed with the illustration, but it would drive me mad when all of a sudden when there would be a few panels where peoples proportions would be totally out of whack. Not a huge issue but if that sort of thing bothers you like it does me then let it be a fair warning to you, don't let it ruin the rest of the manga for you! They don't have the tech to build a weapon on that scale and not have it be useless. As said in the manga, titans can only operate on the scale that they do because they're supernaturally light. Any cannon/melee weapon built on that scale would be incapable of operating at the speed the titans move at without falling apart. Furthermore, the weapon would most likely lack the firepower to take out the top tier titans that can utilize that seemingly unbreakable armor generation ability. Finally, the weapon would have next to no longevity. A sword would dull extremely quickly and a cannon would only have one shot. The titans' natural weapons can attack with enough strength to be functionally equivalent to a sword and, coupled with the rapid regeneration and armor generation, have seemingly limitless longevity. Big-ass weapons would only get in the way.
