Aspire eSports, a North American Starcraft 2 academy team, just accepted the terms of a merger deal with Team oGaming.
Following a colorful departure from vVv Gaming, team Aspire has been actively pursuing a strong team to call home. After considering generous offers from many teams, Alex “Freezer” Kalitsounakis, the owner of oGaming approached Aspire after realizing the value a strong academy would hold in today’s market.
Both sides quickly realized that this merger was a match made in heaven. Aspire gains mentorship from strong players, a seasoned team, and devoted management staff while oGaming gains its first academy team and a pool of strong up and coming players being trained in a structured environment.
Statement from Brian “Salvor” Jones, owner of Aspire eSports:
“Sometimes things just ‘feel right’. That was my immediate sentiment after meeting with Alex for the first time. He’s obviously dedicated, his roster is obviously strong, and I have no doubts about oGaming’s ever rising standing within the SC2 eSports scene. We plan to rise with oGaming, providing them with valuable players, interesting content, and the outline for an efficient, extensible training regimen that can be used at all skill levels.”
Statement from Alex “Freezer” Kalitsounakis, owner of oGaming:
“I am delighted to accept Team Aspire and it’s players into the oGaming organization. After learning of their recent split from vVv Gaming, I had no hesitation in branching out and giving the players a new opportunity and home to represent. I am most impressed by the professional attitude and approach shown by each of the players in Aspire so far in terms of progressing their careers in Starcraft 2. I can only hope that we can be that stepping stone for Aspire to see them progress to that next level in our main team or perhaps even another pro team.”
Roster:
• Jared 'Hiei' Scruggs • Aaron 'haphazaRd' Russell • Adam 'SonTran' Tran • Thomas 'TuFF' Parker
• Brendan 'GunHogz' Reid • Dylan 'Infested' Warren • TJ 'Fearful' Lopez • Gabriel 'Engulf' Blakeley • Skyler 'Darkness' Christian • Zachary 'MavericK' Hoffman
• Chris 'PoSeR' Clauson • Chris 'RoboGunner' Gustafson-Nolan • Jake 'UrL' Power • Ryan 'NazGul' Thornton

Haha thought it was O'Gaming, the french event team who created Iron Squid . Btw i realize that, as an european, i really don't know the american SC2 scene. Don't even know one of this player, and i assume that Nazgul is not the Nazgul we all know (and who's not american). Are they known in the AM scene?

if you read this thread, its an academy team of lower level players that merged, with a NA team that has some semi known players up in GM, but the thread isnt about those players =P
though wish more teams would acquire academies, I may actually find a team if more did lol... Though as a mid-high gm, Aspire has always been way below me. But anyways best of luck to them with their new home.

Welcome to the oGaming family Aspire! Looking forward to a prospering partnership between us both!

Not that I think anyone really cares, but the Aspire brand name was originally my idea. I do give BabyToss full credit for taking the initiative to put together the team, manage them, and essentially make Aspire what it is today. Good luck guys!
