Holy crap that's close to where I live. I might have to go to that ^_^ Everything else was kind of out of the way, but I live right in Mineola so that would be really easy to go to.
Edit: I'm assuming that it's cool for a 16 year old to go at least.

Oh that's like 2 blocks down from my sister's place. I'll see if I can come.

Mr. Reflex knows this post too well...
I'm going to try like hell to be there. I'm right in Floral Park!! I'll try to bring a friend or two.
To bad there won't be any Americans in the WCS American tournament... Hopefully mOOnGLaDe can make to to Sunday at least, and we can cheer someone on from outside Korea.

LOL....Worst transfer ever. Probably will take more than 2 hours.

Why would it take more than 2 hours to catch a train from Jamaica to Mineola? Like every Ronkonkoma or Port Jeff train heading East stops at Mineola.

Cause I would have to take the train from Bayside to Woodside to Jamacia to Mineola. I was also considering the time it would take for me to get to the Bayside train station (30mins) and the time it would take to wait for the train during the transfer. Maybe not more than 2 hours, but definitely close to 2 hours.

Oh I thought you mean the wait at Jamaica would be 2 hours. Yeah your combined trip won't be quick. Same problem for me when I go anywhere by train, pretty much. For Mineola I would drive, though.

Truth. Ya'll should carpool or split a cab, it'll be cheaper and faster than LIRR tickets.

We'll probably start getting there earlier, between 4-5pm but WCS doesn't start until 6pm. You're welcome to come early and get a beer and take a free sticker but you'll miss out on the finals-watching.

Guys, what would you want out of this BarCraft? What can we do to help make it the best viewing experience possible? We're open to any ideas so please throw them out there!

Make sure the whole streams fits on the TV screen and nothing is cut off. A HD stream with sound and no lag. Specials on drinks and food would fantastic. Where can we park?
|
Thanks DaCheF, I'm going to go there and early in the week to set up and confirm that that the stream is optimal quality - I will pay attention to the fit and make sure we're getting the best picture possible
There is a parking lot right behind the restaurant or there is street parking. There are meters on both but I'm fairly certain they will not be enforced on a Sunday evening.
Also: we're working on a custom menu that we'll have up by the early next week with special Starcraft drinks (I'm going to drink my weight in "Vespene Geysers")
|
Ok all, the technical details are all sorted! We'll be watching on a 40" 1080 TV with audio routed through the house and we'll have a dedicated Cat5 run on a virtually unused business network so the connection should be great.
We'll have the entire outdoor bar to ourselves if the weather holds up, but we'll be taking over the main bar if it doesn't - either way we have the same optimal setup.
Drinks specials are coming! We sent our menu to the bar for approval and we'll put it up asap. Also! Each specialty drink will get you a raffle ticket in the prize bucket. We'll be drawing names between games and giving away lots of prizes and free stuff.
