But it doesn't make his achievement any lesser, and i do love seeing some new players at the very top!

But it doesn't make his achievement any lesser, and i do love seeing some new players at the very top! GOM and OGN have been pretty insistent that these tournaments are separate even if they are partnered with the WCS. The Nestea Award (10 consecutive Code S seasons in GSL) wasn't counted in this season for that same reason. At the end of the day, they are the ones giving out the titles and awards. It's their decision to make. In this case Maru: despite being older than Life and a veteran of the GSL; is now the youngest OSL Royal Roader ever.

Kinda lackluster finals though. The most entertaining game for me was game 3 actually. I was convinced if rain won that game he would have won the series

He just defeated the #1 and #2 consecutively and won the most difficult individual tournament in the world. There is no doubt who is the best SC2 player in the world right now. lmfao. countless iterations of the phrase "the best SC2 player in the world right now" are thrown around so carelessly these days, it absolutely chuffs me up. Maru is amaaaaaazing. Deserves the championship. But you, and nobody in the whole world, could possibly know who the best SC2 player in the world is. It kills me to hear Tasteless and Artosis literally crown a new "best player in the world" every few months, sometimes even WEEKS. The funniest part, is the best player in the world is probably some unknown kid in his basement.
