The difference it makes in terms of survival cannot be overstated. While other aura items are still situational (e.g. Zeke's, WotA), remember that you are perpetually in a 5v5 situation. More often than not you'll be surprised how strong they are. which is #1 reason why Sona is so dam good in ARAM.

Here's one for Pantheon I suppose. Pantheon In ARAM, Pantheon suffers from low spell ranges and a lack of sustain. While he shines in skirmishes, the continuous poke battles and teamfights of ARAM do not bode well for his success. Nevertheless, he can still contribute substantial amounts of damage to a team if you play carefully. Despite Pantheon's "Assassin" tag, he struggles with assassinating carries because of his relatively low mobility and the fact that most of his damage is tied up in a channeled (and thus interruptible) spell. Instead of diving priority targets, focus on staying on the periphery of the fight, avoiding CC, and trying to damage as many people with Heartseeker Strike (E) as you can. Use Spear Shot and autoattacks whenever possible. Save Aegis of Zeonia to jump on priority targets or proc your passive in duels, and use your ultimate not as a nuke, but to position yourself to pick off retreating enemies. Starting Items: Brutalizer + Potion Priority Items: Black Cleaver, Last Whisper, Ravenous Hydra Runes: APen, AD Masteries: 21/9 Skill Order: QWQ, R>Q>E>W

It's really hard to stack it up without turning it into a Manamune as soon as possible while using E on cd though, so if you'd rather put your money into a faster LW/Hydra that's your call. I'd buy Tear if I could get in range often enough to harass with Spearshot. But against many teams you can't, so you'll end up Spearshotting relatively sparingly.

Rush Cleaver, Mercs/Tabis, Last Whisper, Ghostblade in that order and you'll have plenty of damage to kill even tanks meaning you can let your last 2 items be tanky - I like Visage or Frozen Heart as 5th item depending on enemy team to max out CDR while adding a significant "burst" of tankiness alongside the increased damage of having lower cooldowns. The 6th item I almost always go Randuins regardless of their team for the manmode into their team -> active Randuin slow combo. In some cases grabbing a Hourglass is actually quite strong on him to avoid getting instagibbed after doing an execution or by a play from say a good LB or Zed - if you can bait out their rotation it's nearly a formality to retailate by slaying them instantly leaving you with substantial advantage as you can nuke down at the least another player in most cases. Lastly, if your team needs a tank against a heavy auto-attack based composition build Pantheon as a Attack speed based tank. Once you get ~2 APS and Frozen Heat+Wardens Mail you can litterally tank an entire team and since your passive is up so often and you debuff their autos. As a sidebonus you can tank an entire tower line easily if you happen to gain an ace.

Your innate mana regen in ARAM is plenty high for you to not need the mana from Tear, unless you spam pointlessly. You clarify with your later statements but "shouldn't ever never" actually would read "always get tear". Double negative op. Random musing. I was thinking about LoL as a casual player while trying to fall asleep last night. I was having trouble and this usually happens after losing a game before going to bed. Analyzing mistakes etc. which can be good if you process it in the appropriate way. Reliving mistakes in your head while trying to fall asleep is not the appropriate way. And I realized why ARAM is perfect for casuals like myself that are too tryhard when they play for the most part. Summoner's Rift games are like a story. Bunch of actions lead to other consequences and there are millions of possibilities for how things could have gone. I had a ton of mistakes, probably could have got that kill, not died to that gank, or even just cs'd better the first few minutes and the game could have been totally different. But ARAM... it's just a giant teamfight nonstop. I can hardly remember the sequence of events in any ARAM beyond super memorable outplays or big events like they took turret after we were aced. It all gets mixed up so easily in your head that in addition to it just being fun and less punishing towards death/lack of cs'ing etc. that it's just a stress-free environment you can enjoy more (I know there's more to why it appeals to casuals). Blah blah didn't know where else to post this.

Item builds: I've tried multiple things, not sure what I like best yet. It seems like starting Sheen into Trinity Force is the way to go, and Berserker's Greaves for boots, but after that point it always feels like I'm lacking a little for flat AD. I've mostly been going Sanguine Blade and Statikk Shiv, but I think I prefer Last Whisper as the second item instead, or Brutalizer > Sanguine Blade > Black Cleaver. Building AD caster-ish makes Lucian way more effective at sieging. I'm curious what other people think, though.

Going into the game with ~80 AP is silly strong. Discuss.

Low on health? W and heal off the creep wave. Still low on health? W and ult the enemy tank. Repeat every 30 seconds. Also, Doran's Ring x3 is ridiculously strong on champions that aren't insanely mana hungry. It allows you to go full 20 MPen runes and still have a ton of AP to make it hurt all the more early on. It works on pretty much any AP who can poke.

The MR is extremely helpfull against counter poke, and just knowing that you will never run out of mana makes it easier to just spam and hope with skillshots. Especially the classic supports (Janna, Soraka, Lulu, Sona ect.) seem to benefit a lot from having the freedom to just spam their abilities. 3x dorans seems interesting, but less safe due to the lack of boots and MR. I guess its a question of how confident you are in your ability to do good pokes without retaliation. If you are against a poke heavy team, 3x dorans looks too risky imo.

Start: triple Dring, 2 Hp pots, 3 mana pots. End results (the two deaths were intentional to buy items): QQWQQQQQWWWW (fuck heals, take all relics for mana)
