Where in the world is Scan Diego? (and the rest of the big name players for that matter)
Queue the Main Camera
Live here from Shanghai (No, that’s not where I live, just go with it) we are here at the last sighting of iFu.Scan with your new news reporter, Comradexkcd. It appears that Scan was scheduled to play against LagFree, but went missing at the last moment. Police have been searching high and low for him, but yet to no avail. Hang on, I’m receiving new information right at this moment. It appears that Bibiane and Rush have yet to be found, according to the Malaysian police and that the Peruvian players of iM have defected over to LagFree. Oh wait, hang on a moment! It appears that the Russian scientists have determined that Oxide is in fact a completely Terran imba map. And now I am getting a transmission that Fengzi has also yet to play for PsB, and was last seen with Chicken drums in his hands on the streets of Bangkok. Reporter Comradexkcd signing off, back to you Comradexkcd.

Thanks Comradexkcd, I’m Comradexkcd of Channel STL 5, and I’m here with the analyst Comradexkcd. So, analyst Comradexkcd, Yesterday there was 2 clan wars that have occurred, can you share your insights on those 2 clan wars for our viewers out there?
Sure. Yes, if my sources are correct, we did have 2 clan wars. First clan war was with iM taking on the power house Sas. and with the second clan war with iFu against the peruvian dark horse, LagFree. Let’s start and conduct an analysis for this. Our first match of iM vs Sas. was a PvT with Ket taking on Non and losing in a long macro game. Note viewers, that engaging a terran army without stasis is not a good idea and should be avoided at all cost.
We had for set 2 Draw vs Fazers on Colloseum II, a another long macro PvT where Draw does figure out that engaging a terran army without stasis is in fact a bad idea and decides to engage the terran army with stasis and win.
Game 3 featured Michael vs Probert on Outsider. Michael opted for a fast 2 hatch muta build and Probert opened up mech with a vulture expand. Michael harassed Probert a bit, but Probert was able to push with a critical mass of mech units and secure a win for iM.
Hope went up against Dsaqwe, PvP on overwatch for game 5. Both players went expand with reaver support, and were on equal footing then Dsaqwe was able to sneak a dt in Hope’s main and do a lot of economic damage which helped to secure him the win.
Hang on! The Producers are telling me to say this for game 5 on Tau Cross with Widowkiller vs Lumix. If I am hearing this right, they want me to say this about widowkiller’s play. I am to say that Widowkiller attempted a crazy zerg and just flat out lost since it was too crazy. With that ending, Sas. wins the war, 4-1.
Alright, analyst Comradexkcd, what about The other clan war? Ah yes, reporter Comradexkcd, the 2nd clan war was iFu against LagFree.
Game 1 on oxide featured Zety vs Cryoc, a back and forth TvZ in which I can conclude with 95% certainity that terran mech on Oxide is in fact Imba.
Game 2 on Outsider (The Producers are telling me that they just have this vod as the 2nd game) was CastrO vs Spx, a TvZ in which CastrO brings out the best of Peruvian cheesey play with Lurker drops and Spx is unable to hold, tying up the series 1-1.
Game 3 (which should have been game 2) featured a PvZ of Dienmax vs Whistler. Dienmax goes for a strong 2 base attack and Whistler is unable to defend, and if my sources are correct, Whistler did in fact not type gg.
On Overwatch we have Andre vs Wapool, a TvP in which we see speed observers from Wapool and with strong macro, Wapool was able to overwelm Andre in a macro game.
Game 5 for this clan war was on Tau Cross with Terror vs Marwin, a TvT that was as swingy as Fox.MVP’s choice of race. But Marwin was able to take the win for iFu, bring the score to 2-3.
The last game was on Fighting spirit with Dandy, one of the peruvians to defect from iM, against Must, who must win his game (Heh, epic pun) to get the war to ace. Unfortunately, Dandy dismantled Must in the game and won the series for LagFree, 4-2.
I’m analyst Comradexkcd and that was the STL review of the week. Back to you Comradexkcd
Swap back main camera and zoom in on Desk
Thank you Comradexkcd. Now, we have here a guest, Professor Comradexkcd to talk to us about the upcoming games for next weekend. Can you tell us a bit about that?
Sure. Next week will feature PsB vs. Lrm and AoV vs iwL. Now for my opinion of these 2 clan wars, PsB is going to have to prepare hard for the Zerg heavy line-up of Lrm (of course Lrm has tosses, but who cares about them). This will be a matter of PsB’s vsZ and Lrm’s core strength showing out, though having Fengzi playing would be nice, as well as Bibiane being serious about bw again *grumbles*. I’m going to have to go with PsB on this one since it’s quite easy to prep against zerg, just need to either BBS or 2 Gate. You could even do that while typing a letter to David Kim to nerf tanks and Arbiters cause Arbiters are not fun for the viewers to watch, we need something more exciting.
As for AoV vs iwL, these 2 teams are the underdogs of this league. I’m willing to go out on a hinge here and say that this will be the first battle that will go to Ace match on Destination (we have yet to have an ace match in this league). If you want to know my predictions, I’ll go with iwL winning 4-3 on this one. It’s way too close for me to bet money on, so I’m saying that with reservations.
Commercial Break
This broadcast of the STL center is brought to you by Miyo Refrigerators, the best in the business. got some nasty cheese you want to use but are too lazy to use on a poor american zerg? Store it inside the Miyo Refrigerators JaJaJa model, where it’s guaranteed to stay fresh and frisky. You can even use the cheese for cheesing other players besides the poor american zerg player who just wants to hit D+. Spread the love of cheese around with Miyo Refrigerators.
Interviews
Cryoc
+ Show Spoiler +
Ok, so please introduce yourself.
Hi, I'm Cryoc B rank Terran mostly known for losing 3games in a row vs Sayle
No way, are there replays of that?
somewhere in the myriads of autoreplays
We need to dig those up. Anyways, you are a terran on iFu, how did you come get associated with iFu?
I guess beating eon twice in some competitions got me some attention. I remember in one of those he was not very pleased. I think that was the gosugamers cup.
Alright, so you managed to win a TvZ against Zety on Oxide, one of the newer maps made by Freakling. A lot of the players have been saying that Oxide is a very terran imba map. What are your thoughts about that, with your game in mind?
Considering TvZ, I'm not so sure anymore. At first I thought it was good for Terran, too. But seeing all those plenty but small paths and far away 3rd gas and impossible 4th gas for Terran, lategame is incredibly hard. Also there is like no buiildable area, so defending anything aside your natural takes even more army supply. The only plus side is that if you can kill the third there is not really a good alternative for Zerg for a new third base. For TvP, it should be playable, not too much area to cover to get 4 bases, well 3.5 bases, but has to be done without turrets.
So you're the first player I have met that hasn't agreed that terran is imba, that's interesting
Was I the only Terran player, that you asked?
nope. Let's move on. What's your impression of STL and with GeckoXp's complete fanyboyism over Marwin?
He got his desired matchup and I guess was not disappointed. His fanboyism is justified. Marwin is a monster.
Hmm, let's talk about the fun stuff. Ok, Where do you think scan is?
Good question. Tell me if you see him.
It's rumored that Scan was to play against lagfree, can you cofirm or deny that?
It was planned yes
alright, where do you think Bibiane is then?
Aren't they all the same?
Good point, I'll keep that in mind. Alright, what about Fengzi?
Chinese are excused, who would play in the middle of the night with lag?
hmm, then why did birdie add him to the lineup?
Looks good. Look at our lineup^^
Look at my lineup and tell me that looks sexy on paper when is doesn't anyways, let's wrap this up.Where in the world is Carmen San Diego?
No idea, not that I look for her.
Alright, any shout-outs you want to do?
Thanks to SBWI for creating another team league. It was getting a little bit thin on the competition side for non-Sziky players. Shout out to the rest of iFU, time to 4-0 the rest of the teams this season.
Alright, thanks for the interview!

Birdie
+ Show Spoiler +
Alright, Please introduce yourself to people who may not know you
Hi everyone, I'm Birdie, possibly the best Zerg player in existence (except by.hero (heart)). I run Team Stealth Bunnies (which is working with Team PaiN for the STL, forming the PaiN Stealth Bunnies superteam!) which plays in several SCBW leagues, and usually does very well in whatever we enter. I also cast and commentate, and am one of the developers of the StarServer project. I like long walks on the beach and candlelit dinners.
You do candlelit dinners with anyone and if not, can I come?
If you're male you have to pay for yourself, otherwise sure!
Damn it, I don't want to pay for plane tickets to Australia. Anyways. I know that you manage 3 Stealth Bunnies teams (DRTL, CRTL, and now STL with the merger of Pain). How did Stealth Bunnies come about and how do you view your team and or organization now?
A long time ago in a forum far far away, myself and a friend decided to make a game about Stealth Bunnies. It never really happened but I liked the name and decided to roll with it. My original motive for making the team was because I wanted to play in the D Ranks Team League, and of course, win it! So I paid numerous B- players to smurf in the DRTL season 3, and we nearly won! However, Team Courage paid some Korean ex-pros to smurf for them in the games vs us so unfortunately we didn't quite manage to win the finals.
The team now is an awesome bunch of players of a very wide variety of skill (E level to Fengzi-level). Because we play in several leagues, it's easy for players to progress into new leagues without having to work with a different organization or team, which I think is excellent for all involved.
I personally manage 3 teams, but I don't have them linked at all, which is impressive for you (I'm jealous). Anyways, let's talk about STL. What are your thoughts on the 2 new maps that are being used, Oxide and Overwatch?
I think Oxide has some potential for being a more played map, with aspects of it which are beneficial for each race. I don't have much of an opinion on Overwatch, as I haven't played it nor watched many games on it.
Right Now, PsB is 2-0 in the league and they are to face off with Lrm) next week. Are we going to see some gosu anti-zerg and anti-sziky strategies?
We will offer a sacrificial lamb for Sziky to satisfy himself with, and then take down all the other players on LRM to bring about an easy win for us!
Unfortunately Fengzi won't be able to play this week or else I'd try set up Fengzi vs Sziky for an epic showdown of two Zerg giants in the foreign scene.
Who will be the sacrificial lamb? A protoss player?
Classified, top secret, need to know only.
I guess we will find out when you guys play off. Alright, now let's talk about the theme of the week, Where in the world is Scan Diego? Where has Fengzi been since we have yet to see him play :/
Fengzi was going to play in the first week against AoV, however we were unable to set up a time and that fell through. This week and last week he was busy, but we definitely should see him later on in the season
So Fengzi has been spotted. Now will we ever see Scan play for iFu and or Bibiane/Rush play for iM or I am just chasing ghosts here?
He's not a ghost, although it's very impressive of Scianush to be able to play on two teams at once. I look forward to seeing him play vs himself However, I don't know if he'll ever actually play, or mca will discover his secret!
Sssshh, we can't let that out! Next Topic. Star Server Get when Plox?
Soon. Blizzard Soon(TM). I hope beta will start before Christmas, but whether that will be this Christmas or next Christmas remains to be seen. Progress is still being made, so it's not dead in the water. It could be faster, of course, so I'll go whip my coding slaves after this interview to improve their lines per minute rate ^_^
Let's make a deal. I pull some strings and PsB wins STL 1, we get open beta before Christmas. What do you say to that?
Sounds good! Open beta before 2014 Christmas fo' sho'!
Quick fire questions now. Where is Carmen Diego?
San Francisco
Why is She in San Francisco?
Eating pasta
Must be good pasta there. Can I find bibiane with her in San Francisco?
no he's in russia, smurfing as must in the russian LAN they just had. his must mask is impressive :must:
hmmm, So He's Pro7ect?
no, pro7ect is terran
and Bibiane isn't terran?
not when he's smurfing as must
Must wouldn’t have lost to Dandy then
smurfs killin BW since 1995
Didn't know that BW was around in 95
Ah, before your time I think
True, so where's Waldo?
paris, top of the eiffel tower, no one would suspect that he would be in such an obvious place ;D
Alright, Shout-out times! Who do you want to give a shout-out to?
I wanna give a shoutout to Ninazerg, whose coaching enabled me to come out of my group in Crimson Starleague, also shoutout to all the awesome players on sB and PsB, who will definitely win all the leagues they're involved in. Shoutout to the SBWI guys for running this league, and I wanna thank all my fans who support me. Keep cheering for sB and I, we will try hard to show good games and improve our skills!
Alright, Thanks for the interview, and please do whip up the code monkeys.
Thanks for interviewing me I'll do my best.
Snipealot
+ Show Spoiler +
Alright, Please introduce yourself to the people that may not know who you are
Hi I'm snipealot, a Norwegian living in South-Korea. I run a few afreeca restreams and generally try to help out the community in any way I can.
Alright, Do you happen to know anything about the SWBI clan league that is going on right now?
Not a lot - only that apparently someone sniped a player from another team, maybe SAS? I watch a lot less BW than most people think, and with the time differences I haven't been able to watch a broadcast.
Well Poetic did beat Bakuyru in a solid TvZ and Probert also beat Michael in another solid TvZ. We are currently into week 5 of the league (week 4 just finished), and the Peruvians are already up 2-0 . What we are finding interesting is that Scan still has yet to play for iFu and Fengzi has also yet ot play for PsB. Care to make any comments at all about that?
(I have no idea who neither Poetic nor Probert is this might be a bad question)
(both were the upsets)
Well I honestly don't know who neither Poetic nor Probert is so bakuyru and michael losing is surprising. Scan and Fengzi not participating might be scheduling conflicts I guess unless there is a tactical reason the teams might have for not using them.
Alright, lets move on to another topic. You have been running the snipealot streams for a long time now and got yourself acting as the foreign liason for the SOSPA scene. Where do you see yourself and the snipealot streams in the near future now that your stay in korea comes to a ending soon?
That's a good question really. I'll still be able to help out with translation and interpretation for TL in regards to anything related to SOSPA, but the future of the snipealot streams is more uncertain. I haven't been able to secure hosting in Korea, but I have been able to figure out a way to restream from Norway when I move back there. This still isn't optimal though and will probably see the streams reduced from 4 to 1.
So can I make this interview as a public call for help concerning securing the streams when you move back?
You could, though finding a trustworthy host is important which is why I haven’t really gone public with this.
Hmmm, Let's work hard on being able to keep the streams alive. Now, I want to ask a question about the korean and Foreign interconnections. Way back then, there was a clan league in which the Foreigners entered in an all-star team called FAT. Only Sziky was able to get a win against Doctor K, which at the time was really impressive. Are there any plans that you know of f
om the SOSPA side to connect to the foreign scene or are they going to continue to be isolated?
Well that depends. Sonic loves his foreign fans of course, but the language barrier, latency and skill gap makes it difficult to include foreign players in any kind of regular way. Sonic does however seem open to having top foreign players in showmatches or even short clan leagues. This all requires initiative from the foreign side of things though as Koreans are unlikely to actively seek out foreigners themselves.
Let's talk fun stuff. This week's theme is the theme of missing players, so where in the world is Carmen San Diego?
Who is Carmen San Diego??
She's the main antagonist for a Children's education game that was popular in the 90s where you would try to find her around the world
err, I have no idea how to answer the question sadly
Ah, you just gotta guess a place that she could be hiding at
If nobody can find her I'd say she's in Pyeongyang
Pyongyang? That's a scary place for her to be, why would she be there?
Well the rest of the world is quite connected, I figure that's the best place to hide. She might stand out though, I hear there aren't that many non-koreans there.
Ahaha. Alrighty then, Any shout outs you want to do?
Shoutout to all the snipealot mods for keeping the streams alive, and to TL for being awesome as always. Also a shoutout to SBWI for actively helping the foreign bw community. Thanks to them and TLS it seems like the foreign community is growing again.
Thanks for the interview! Do note that Snipealot3 needs an OBS update.
I'll do that now
