Read the full post on GOMTV
Dear GOMTV.net users,
As the year of 2013 comes to a close with the 2013 Hot6ix Cup Last Big Match finale, many exciting changes are brewing for the next year in 2014. This entire year was made possible by fans and members of GOMTV.net and we would like to take this time to thank you for showing us your support for such a long time.
We believe that the changes being made in preparation for 2014 will allow us to deliver a better service to our users and be able to connect with them on many levels which are two of our main goals. Without further ado, here are some of the new eXPeriences that you can look forward to...
As of December 3rd, GOMTV has rebranded as GOMeXP and has announced several new changes in its service.
Most notably, GSL/GSTL streaming will move entirely to TwitchTV for 2014, with GomTV.net no longer used to stream matches. "Medium" on twitch will be provided for free, while "high" and "source" quality will be available to subscribers. VODs will also be behind the subscription paywall, making this effectively a full reversion to GomTV's subscription policy prior to the introduction of the WCS system. Early bird discounts are available for viewers who wish to buy a 2014 year pass on TwitchTV.
Additionally, GOMeXP will open its own Youtube channel which will initially provide all GomTV VODs from 2010~2012.

Hmmm I liked GOMtv streaming too
Dunno if this is a good thing or not

Youtube VODs of classic games is amazing. That plus ESL's well-organized youtube will be great for SC2.

Cut down on those bandwidth costs and makes everything more view able on mobile devices. Good move for GOM all around and great for those of us who want to watch it on things that are not our PC.

Shit, not more stuff that is dependent on Twitch. D:
|
Bad news for the majority, no more free high quality, probably back down to 480/360p on twitch. Hopefully not back to the old days of pixelmania.

Tasteless and Artosis emoticons!! :D

It looks like only the medium quality will be available for free on twitch. I hope there will be a monthly option to sub.
edit: also they better fix the audio, I watched on their website because the twitch stream always had some annoying noise that you could hear when there was no music playing.

Don't count on mobile availability. Some tournament channels disable mobile streaming since fewer ads play on the twitch app than the main site.
Although that's really dumb of them because you can't adblock the twitch app as far as I know.

GomTV.Net's stream used to be awesome but starting around early 2013 it started lagging for me really terribly. More than Twitch. So I'm pretty happy/neutral towards that aspect of the change. I can't complain that they halved the ticket prices, either.

Huh? It's still $20 a season, a little less if you buy all 3 at once.
