I thought street fighter and mortal kombat were the big fighting game titles. Not sure what scenes are the biggest, but what I do know is that TL doesn't always factor that in and usually just go with what they believe in or enjoy more.

Anyone can enlighten me ? prob with people who live around the same area. that' why the pros end to be from highly populated areas. and why when you watch the stuff their always talking about west coast and east coast scenes.

SF4, Marvel, Killer Instinct and KoF are the other big ones. There are also the anime fighters, who have their own really passionate but smaller scene - that's games like BlazBlue, Arcana Heart and Guilty Gear. And most players play multiple games, so the scene is very incestuous. F'rinstance, Justin Wong plays Marvel, KI and Street Fighter, and has dabbled in KoF. The only Smash player who has any fighting game success outside Smash is Leffen. So Smash is more its own thing and less part of the wider FGC.

Question: Why are they still playing Melee when brawl is already out for a few years and the first new chars for the WII U SSB are already announced? [I know Mewtwo is too cool ] ME GUSTA MÁXIMO!!!!

Welcome smash bros! After watching the doc several times showing it to people, trying to explain what it's all about, I sorta feel like I know you guys. Came here for the starcrafts and I never really saw much of competitive smash or expected this kind of awesome nostalgia bomb to blow up @TL. Takes me right back to dorm-room smash fests in college. Stoked to watch yall compete!

[I know Mewtwo is too cool ] Brawl is really slow, mechanics are missing + tripping. It's basically awful(disliked it even as a casual player back in the day). There is Project M which is a mod that makes Brawl a bit more competitive.
