I was a bit in doubt if trying to buy facebook likes was a good idea. The reason I decided for it was that many streams announce prizes or events based on how many viewers they get and this is the same thing. Secondly I really have no idea how to grow a business through social media. I'm a great webdeveloper, but I hardly know the first thing about advertising.
This early in our business we have to try to maximize the effect of our money - which is none. This is coming from my own pocket. I want to run prize tournaments weekly or even daily in the future, but we need to grow first. I have been considering lately to just run a 50 or 100 euro tournament and "see what happens", but most likely it will be a 99% waste of money because it won't give us any growth. Which is why I decided to run a facebook like event because that is an important part of us growing.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Clash I suggest you read our about page. It explains our motives and our plans regarding our business. Our most important asset is the trust of the community. Support us so we can create a lot of awesome tournaments in the future.
Personally I have been working on various esports projects for the past 3 years. For the past 10 years I've been involved in various admin duties in communities. I created and ran my own Neverwinter Nights 2 server back in the day. I have done a bit of casting under the project name GGWP.TV and I have built several different web tools for the community. I have been working on Clash for the past 1.5 years and only now is the website system ready to use. This is not a smash'n'grab throw money into esports in hopes to get rich. This is: I'll continue to spend my time and effort because I love esports. The Clash business strategy is based on advertisement, running prize tournaments and building the best tournament hosting system there is. The simple fact is: I'm not doing this because it's the most awesome idea ever. I'm doing it because I don't want to do anything else.
I have been as honest and open as I can and I sincerely hope you will support us. Thank you.
