Yes and no. I would prefer not to overclock if it's not necessary but if there comes a time when there is a large upside to doing so then I would like to have the option to do so.

For $800 overclocking equipment isn't really where you should be allocating money. Maybe you could justify it for overclocking an AMD processor but generally speaking for a gaming computer a non-overclocked Haswell quad-core works out just fine. Downloading and watching 1080p streams is more about network connection than your computer hardware. The same thing could eventually be said for actually streaming. I know that my own rig is perfectly fine for streaming but my internet connection can't pull off a decent 720p stream (let alone 480p). An i5 4670 is the go-to processor for the kind of building you're describing: gaming rig with no overclock, capable of doing almost anything decently but nothing excellently. The real question in your build is what kind of GPU you're going to get. For high settings on 1080p, a GTX 760 would do nicely (the AMD alternative is the R9 280 but it's a tad more expensive than the 760). For ultra settings on 1080p then you could step up to an R9 280X (not sure about pricing atm) or a GTX 770. Though I'm guessing you'll run out of cash before you step up to the latter two, with $800. Try to put something together and have others take a look at it. Seems kind of weird that you would want a CPU cooler on a non-overclocked CPU. It might help but $30 is quite an investment IMO.

Also, 16GB of RAM? Kind of overkill....you'd save a ton of money by buying just 1 stick of 8GB RAM and upgrading in the future. Not sure what you use your computer for but for me, I have SC2, CSGO, Twitch, GOMPlayer, and Firefox on and my RAM usage doesn't exceed 5GB... Most of the time it's barely even 3GB.
With that extra $100 saved from RAM and CPU cooler, I'd recommend you buy a GTX 770 to take full advantage of your i5.

Might as well get 2x4gb if the mobo has 4 RAM slots, as long as you don't want more than 16 on the life of the mobo (my friend complains about being stuck with 4x4 after an ordering mistake, but then again he complains constantly about using all 1gb RAM on iphone too )
dual channel = twice as much bandwidth as single, so it's kinda important

Am set up now with air540, beautiful case and easy to work with
This was my silver arrow after 8 months
I was going to clean bi-anually, but held off a few months because of new case. I seriously doubt it would get that bad if i wasn't running a high negative pressure setup out of laziness (somewhat powerful 170mm exhaust above cpu cooler with very little to feed it) because the amount of dust falling off it when taking fans off etc was somewhat shocking. I didn't really pay attention to it in the second half of that timespan
GPU, took a closer look, blew dust off the PCB, seems basically brand new.

Power sensor peaked ~152w (gtx770 @1.2v, 1293/7000mhz cause i forgot to add the 1% voltage and +600mhz on RAM) which is still ridiculously low - i'm pretty sure it's accurate, as nvidia uses it to control a lot of stuff and it seems to scale up/down properly, i've seen it show as much as i think it was ~192% on an overvolted titan (yay ocn)

Gotta grab 3x 120mm fans for front, don't have them in. I think i'l grab a third ty-147 too, for aesthetics if nothing else, it won't notably affect noise at this point.
Will order tomorrow i think, but still not sure what to get. That will make load cpu+gpu temps drop by quite a lot. Still not sure of exactly which ones to get, or how to control them without a drive bay, but i can work that out

I considered leaving 3x exhaust, but with 3x af140's running at full power, i wouldn't be able to fan control my 3x120mm's without falling into negative pressure with a largely meshed, open-to-air case, and i'd rather sleep with noise as-is, as opposed to with three high powered 120mm fans running full blast
edit: Ran through heaven again w/ RAM up, 80% fan - got about 1.5fps faster, peaked 59c and ~155w on sensor. 53fps on heaven 4.0 extreme preset - might get a bit lower temps and definitely a lot more airflow when i throw 3x120 on front, so it definitely makes me very confident to throw whatever gpu i want in there ^.^
As far as i know now, this sensor is for GPU power consumption, not factoring in the efficiency of the VRM's on the graphics card, or the VRAM. Actual consumption from the PSU is likely 200 watts, with that added in, at max OC.
My room temp must be like.. 18c
I also kinda screwed myself a little into using only a single GPU, as even though 2x 760's would draw like 320w, this 550w psu (golden green hx) only has 2x 6+2 pci-e connectors.. i'd have to use all of the molex's + adapters to make a couple more 6 pins, but i hear that's a somewhat questionable option? If it's completely fine and totally ok to use a 6+2 paired with a 2x-molex-into-6pin for two GPU's of gtx760 tier power consumption, please let me know (as it's probably silly to run anything meatier at max OC on a 550w psu, superflower or not, with an oc'd 4770k)
Oh, also, i talked to a BT engineer and got download capped @30mbits (before overhead) to speed up upload some, supposed to be able to get 80/20, but it's FTTC (as FTTH is probably years out, waited literally half of my life already for this stuff) and much of my rather large town apparently uses aluminum wiring as opposed to copper, so it's best available.
Got ~30% increase in upload from that, and download/ping are rock solid, as well as completely stable connection so far. Uncapped, also. Better than 6.8/0.65 ADSL that derps out quite often in random cases!

Power sensor peaked ~152w (gtx770 @1.2v, 1293/7000mhz cause i forgot to add the 1% voltage and +600mhz on RAM) which is still ridiculously low - i'm pretty sure it's accurate, as nvidia uses it to control a lot of stuff and it seems to scale up/down properly, i've seen it show as much as i think it was ~192% on an overvolted titan (yay ocn) Since it was lower than before, i checked back to my old post, and seems i got same temp there, but with 80% gpu fan instead of 60% (which is way louder, and not the best type of noise) so i was just gonna give gpu a few mins to cool down before running heaven again @80% fan Ud3h is actually, i THINK - CPU, OPT - both separately PWM controlled, can set to whatever sysfan 1, pwm, maybe voltage controlled sysfan 2+3, pwm or voltage controlled, shared channel sysfan 4, voltage controlled or 12v 24/7 Gotta grab 3x 120mm fans for front, don't have them in. Actual consumption from the PSU is likely 200 watts, with that added in, at max OC. My room temp must be like.. 18c I also kinda screwed myself a little into using only a single GPU, as even though 2x 760's would draw like 320w, this 550w psu (golden green hx) only has 2x 6+2 pci-e connectors.. i'd have to use all of the molex's + adapters to make a couple more 6 pins, but i hear that's a somewhat questionable option? If it's completely fine and totally ok to use a 6+2 paired with a 2x-molex-into-6pin for two GPU's of gtx760 tier power consumption, please let me know (as it's probably silly to run anything meatier at max OC on a 550w psu, superflower or not, with an oc'd 4770k) Oh, also, i talked to a BT engineer and got download capped @30mbits (before overhead) to speed up upload some, supposed to be able to get 80/20, but it's FTTC (as FTTH is probably years out, waited literally half of my life already for this stuff) and much of my rather large town apparently uses aluminum wiring as opposed to copper, so it's best available. Got ~30% increase in upload from that, and download/ping are rock solid, as well as completely stable connection so far. Uncapped, also. Yes, half of the UK is stuck on ADSL1 (0.6 up) but i get the impression that the internet situation over in the US is significantly worse. Seems to suck for a lot of them, whereas here there is a lot of feast or famine, but good ISP's in general, data capping or throttling does not really happen, etc
10:1 ratio of download to upload is a bit crazy, i'm around 3.5:1 atm

Yes and no. I would prefer not to overclock if it's not necessary but if there comes a time when there is a large upside to doing so then I would like to have the option to do so.
I don't intend to use Crossfire/SLI as I can't really see when I would ever need to do so but if a pro on here suggests I should then I will reconsider.

For $800 overclocking equipment isn't really where you should be allocating money. Maybe you could justify it for overclocking an AMD processor but generally speaking for a gaming computer a non-overclocked Haswell quad-core works out just fine. Downloading and watching 1080p streams is more about network connection than your computer hardware. The same thing could eventually be said for actually streaming. I know that my own rig is perfectly fine for streaming but my internet connection can't pull off a decent 720p stream (let alone 480p). An i5 4670 is the go-to processor for the kind of building you're describing: gaming rig with no overclock, capable of doing almost anything decently but nothing excellently. The real question in your build is what kind of GPU you're going to get. For high settings on 1080p, a GTX 760 would do nicely (the AMD alternative is the R9 280 but it's a tad more expensive than the 760). For ultra settings on 1080p then you could step up to an R9 280X (not sure about pricing atm) or a GTX 770. Though I'm guessing you'll run out of cash before you step up to the latter two, with $800. Try to put something together and have others take a look at it. As Cyro will doubtlessly get around to telling you, 2x4 Gb of RAM is preferable to 1x8 Gb. Dual channel means double bandwidth. It's hardly more expensive either. We're not talking about flabbergasting gains but it's still worth it.
I wouldn't get an aftermarket cooler if you're going to just use a 4670. This is what I have, a stock cooler on a 4670 and my temperatures are perfectly fine, the cooler isn't even noisy since I never load the processor enough to warm it up all that much. Stock cooler works perfectly fine.

kk the 2x4GB makes more sense than the 1x8GB then. Also I am a bit paranoid of not having a good cpu cooler after what just happened to my old comp. Some how the liquid cooler I had failed after only 4 years and then a part of it melted leaking out onto the mother board and gpu mostly :/. But if the stock cooler on the 4670 will work perfectly fine then that's money saved/money I can spend elsewhere. I'm currently on my 8-9 year old laptop lol so I will probably figure out in the next couple of hours what I will definitely be ordering.

im planning on getting it from the ncix store i have pretty close to my house, but thats not 100% if i do find a better deal i will go for that.
so im trying to decide between which geforce 780 to go for, but its all pretty confusing with the differences and price differences so im just asking here to get a few good opinions that can help! thanks!

Zotac is big in Asia, not so much in North America. Zotac has a two year warranty, no idea about their quality of post-sale support.
EVGA on the other hand is very well known for their excellent post-sale support and that's why you hear them being recommended so often. Warranty is three years, option to purchase extended warranty, Step-Up program, option for Advanced RMA, community forums with active employee involvement, etc.

The WD Black2 is still only interesting for laptops in which you need two storage devices living off the same interface port / slot. A lot of laptops these days either don't even have room for a standard SATA drive, have multiple 2.5" SATA drive spots, or have a 2.5" slot along with mSATA. I mean, the price of a 120GB SSD (which is better than the one in the Black2) is about $70, and the cost of a 1TB 2.5" drive is also about $70, so even with the heavy discount the Black2 is still more expensive than the separate parts combined.
Rosewill Stallion 500W is pretty bad, worse than you find in most cheapo OEM systems. It's not worth nearly $40. It might be worth a look as an emergency testing backup under the $20 range.

Mail in rebates aren't instant. You have to mail it and then they send you a prepaid credit card or cheque in the mail a few months later if your application is approved. I'm not a big fan of them and they're certainly even stupider now with postage costing $1.2 to the US.
Not much tangible differences if you're a typical consumer. MSI Twin Frozr IV is good but so is ASUS's DirectCu II, Gigabyte's Windforce, EVGA's ACX, and so on. If you're an enthusiast who cares about overclocks than you may want to look into which one has the better PCB and stuff.

In addition to what Myrmidon said about prices (which should already convince you not to buy that drive), I'm also worried that you will eventually run into some sort of problems with that drive. If you don't know how it works, the thing will show up as a 120GB SSD to the PC. After you install some sort of special driver, the 1TB HDD part shows up. There won't be two drives, instead it's one drive with two partitions. Everything about that seems suspicious. If you buy two normal drives instead, things will just work, no need for special drivers.
