For the first time this season, Code A featured two groups with at least one Terran included in them. Group E featured the "other" KT Rolster Terran, TY, the fan favorite killer, Samsung_Shine, the star of the IM Proleague show, ByuL, and the relatively unknown, CJ_sKyHigh. Over on Group F, also labeled as Group Flash, we had the king of all-ins, MVP_TAiLS, the Symbol of Zerg hope, the "other" relatively unknown, CJ_Hush, and of course, the BW legend and ultimate weapon, KT_Flash.
For TY, the night couldn't have gone any easier. All breaths were held in worry since TY's first opponent, Shine, was notorious for always knocking out the fan favorites from the GSL. Even though TY made a name for himself with his spectacular Proleague performances, his finish was more than lackluster towards the end of Rounds 3 and 4. All eyes were on these two players to see who would come out on top and it ended up being TY by a landslide. However, not only did he crush Shine, but he also then went on to dismantle Proleague gold name ByuL. Even though ByuL was a force to be reckoned with because of his Proleague performances and fierce aura, TY easily swept him to the side and twirled a cane as he walked into Code S with a 4-0 score. So then came the next important question: Who will advance out as second? Although sKyHigh is well known for always finding some way to get back into Code A, he is also well known for never being able to go further than that. ByuL and Shine both ended up sending sKyHigh packing back to the PC bang qualifiers in brutal fashion. The final player to advance would be decided by a ZvZ. Thankfully, while the viewers were not subject to the same old boring roach vs. roach games, they still had to endure an anti-climactic finish as Shine quickly took care of ByuL in a convincing 2-0 manner and found himself back in Code S once again. This means that everyone watching the GSL will once again have to be aware of the possibility of Shine knocking out the fan favorites in Code S.
For TY's teammate, Flash, the pressure was on like never before. After being knocked out of Code A last season, Flash's career in the SC2 scene was being seriously questioned by many. However, Flash decided that his time to shine would be today. Although his first match against Symbol was anything but easy, Flash still came out on top with a 2-1 victory and sent Symbol down to the losers' round with a massive doom drop that crushed Symbol's hopes of advancing to the winners' match. From there on, it was a rather easy road for Flash as he took down Hush before the 20 minute mark could hit for both games and advanced into Code S. With this, Flash now has a chance at redemption. Unfortunately, Flash fans can't feel too happy about this victory since the road through Code S is a long and arduous journey, and seeing as how Flash has never made it past the Ro16 of Code S before, the pressure has yet to be completely off his shoulders. But for the time being, Flash and his fans can both enjoy in this small triumph. The rest of the night was almost uneventful. Although it was quite a surprise to see Symbol become the first player to be eliminated from Group F, it didn't surprise anyone to see TAiLS initiating two all-ins in a row against Symbol, who is known for his strong macro style in the mid-game/late-game stages. As it would turn out however, perhaps TAiLS may have needed to focus more on refining his PvP rather than his PvZ immortal all-ins. Hush 4-0ed TAiLS out of Code A through very one sided PvPs, and really made a statement in his GSL debut by advancing into Code S.

Good writeup, my one criticism is that I think it's a little unfair to call sKyHigh an "unknown" on the same level as somebody like Hush. True, he hasn't accomplished anything in SC2, but he had a long and pretty respectable Brood War career going all the way back to 2007, even if he was never a star.

KT Terrans delivering again! Hopefully they can move further this season than last time. Believe!

While Flash is not at the level of dominance he was in BW, he's still a top 3 PL Terran with decent results in the GSL.

Seeing how no one can consistently stay on top in the international tournament scene for a longer term (I mean 1 year+), you have to ask if it's really the players' fault. Not even Jaedong with his sick apm and good sense for strategy could accomplish this. I am very curious if Taeja will be able to keep up his current form at the current level. Starcraft 2 just seems to be a question of when to all-in. There is not that much strategy involved anymore because the game's so fragile. You make a tiny mistake (for example you go for banshees and don't do enough damage), the counterparty decides to all-in and it can be over very quickly. It's a game of mistakes and quick reactions. An easy example is the second game of Flash vs Hush. Flash was behind in the casters' view if I remember correctly. Suddenly he went western through a big part of the map undetected with his whole army + min. 10 medivacs. Oh, let's fly into the main and all-in the zerg. Those games are not entertaining. But they are effective. Who needs to play a macro game if you consider win-rates of all-ins...
Many pros from the past have said this. The game is too fragile. There are many amazingly talented players, but can there ever be someone consistently on top? I highly doubt.

Funny, that phrase would be better suited to people calling Flash a Top 5 Terran, one of th best in the world, the next bonjwa, or God.
Congrats to the KT players who put up some very strong wins, really sad for Symbol. With him no longer being in Code S, I don't know what he's gonna do for a team or for other events to play in.

You mean like soO's back-to-back-to-back GSL finals? Or Mvp's 2011 streak? Or I guess "consistency" as in Taeja's 2013? Or when you say consistency, do you mean Life's streak in offline Bo5s, where he didn't lose an offline Bo5 for some 20 matches across something like 18 months? Or by "consistency", something like Innovation going 37-6 (that's 86% win rate) in ATC? By "consistency", I'm assuming you don't mean something like Jaedong reaching 6 finals in 2013? I'm also assuming that you are unaware of Maru reaching the Ro4 in 5 elite tournaments (and winning one of them) last year.
I mean, I'm not going to say that you don't know what you're talking about, but...

With his mastery of CodeA complete maybe Flash can show us a mastery of CodeS. With Terran getting some love in the near future now is as good a time as any for him :D

I would say yes.

Definitely not Jjakji, MMA, or Heart. Polt is debatable, along with bbyong and supernova. Inno and Ty are questionable, but are probably ahead of Flash. The rest I agree with.

If Zest says Flash is a beast in practice, I would dare to say he failed to yet perform on the level he is capable to show. Flash is an excellent player and when you take his game vs EffOrt on New Kirk Precinct from Proleague I believe for example you will see flawless mechanics and gameplay.
I still believe he will come back. Hopefully he can show his real level.
