Basically it's a EK but scale with AOE, and build-in totem, so no reflect issues like EK. And we all know that EK non-crit can scale to 10k dps already, but since it's totem and all that jazz, we can scale it a bit higher as there is no need for that much defense. That combine with 2x totems give a 30k pdps with nothing special gear ( no pesky monster ele resist ).
That type of number on totems is hella strong. Even non-crit dual flame totem with quite good gear and 6L can only pull 15k fire dps shotgun (1.5k tooltip ). And this is fire, while the other is physical.
Not sure if I should replace flame totem with shockwave totem, since lightning thorn/ele reflect rape the flame totem really bad unless I have a pair of Cybil's Paw on swap. Shockwave totem have no downsides. Now I have to figure it out how to run Hatred with BM though ;_;
Anyone knows if the Heralds affect totem or not ? I know that auras affect them, but what about totem ?

It's like half EK's base damage after the buff but point taken.
Is it just me or are no builds good as scion anymore? Its never faster to be scion and the notables for going around scion are so good compared to the trash u get for being scion.

Because it has a base mana cost of 73(!) at level 20. Pretty much the same league as flame totem. You really want 4 damage supports normally. Moreover with blood magic support gem you have massive mana costs. Considering that you need to plant two of them and constantly reposition it gets expenisve. That being said you can pull off a 5link flame totem if you invest into mana regen (friend of mine did anyway, starting as templar, no EB). But I don't know whether it's possible on a 6link.
1.2 mana costs may change this of course.

alright, POE pros, help me out
if im making a witch thats moving through ES nodes over to dagger stuff for spectral throw crit, how do i go about leveling? what skill should I use? I am not going to have +spell damage nodes, and I won't have any strength for a 2h weapon
this is softcore so it wouldnt be a big deal if i died
im guessing just use FP

Man, I really want to see how Herald of Ice works with things that aren't spells or attacks (freeze mine, bear trap).

im guessing just use FP I'm doing a some-what similar build (basically witch base gonna be CI but using attacks) and I came to the conclusion that I should just start as shadow for convenience since the nodes there are hella good for attacks and just end up touching the start of witch as well once I go CI (which is completely fine). Note that the "increased damage/attackspeed with 1 hand melee weapons" nodes work with spectral throw daggers. U could level reave or even just spectral throwing 1handers. Or you could level freeze pulse but without at least a quick 30% damage from the tree that might just be pretty damn slow.
I do hope ur looking at the new tree, yes?

I'm kinda annoying that this expansion is coming out literally the day after I start school. Honestly, GGG's timing is pretty poor here. A lot of their players are students of some form or another, and having leagues start right as school does while having significant downtime during the end of summer when plenty of people wanted to play and had tons of free time was a pretty big screwup. If they have a summer league, perhaps a 2 or 2.5 month one from the end of June to the middle or end of August, it would probably be the most popular since a lot of players will have much more unscheduled time during which they can get lost in what PoE has to offer. Maybe this year's timing means they'll have it next year.
also why is no one discussing the Mortal Conviction change? I think it was Vara who was trashing their last Mortal Conviction number. Looks like you can run pretty much every important party aura on life with Mortal Conviction and some other reduced reservation nodes, with room to spare if you want to run Determination as well.

yeah, new tree unfortunately i don't come close to any other starting spot so i have to go with witch i think will level reave, rush to dagger nodes, and then switch to spectral throw
there is a 30str node on the way i guess i could pick that up and go 2h for a while

I submit that if ur not going close to shadow start with a CI spectral throw crit dagger build ur doing it wrong but thats up to u

they have change the shockwave totem buff from 50% to 15%. still gonna be very good though.

It's a fair point on the league timing, but Chris has mentioned (i think it was a supporter newsletter?) that this particular timing, with a 3 month league ending in late November, allows them to either start a new league or have a short league over the christmas holiday break period. Hopefully that makes up for it somewhat.

I have read somewhere before that summer is the lowest time period for time spent gaming. Who knows if thats true or not. Personally I spent more time gaming during the winter than I do any other specific time period, with most of my summer booked off for vacation stuff, hiking fishing running etc.

It is a buff for pre-level 20 spectres, but that change includes damage to be set at -10%. Level 20 spectres did not have a damage penalty.
If the notes are correct then pre-1.2 spectres get their damage multiplied by 0.9 from now on.
Actually I might have read the patch notes wrong.

From what we know, there are 3 bow that have Harbringer crit base now, so from roughly that I think.

Also I vaguely remember reading at multiple points that they intended to release this 5 weeks ago but the content was not yet ready so the pushed it back til now.

Yep they planned to have the TW launch 1wk after the main server. However the main launch was pushed back a month but the TW date cannot because it's a pre-announced fixed date, so we have this situation instead.
