Update: No longer happening
On September 13 2014 07:38 ChanmanV wrote:FYI, I just spoke with Blizzard and they currently are not comfortable with any tournaments including card ban rules in the tournament ruleset. So what this means is we will be going back to the more standard ruleset where no cards are banned from decks. Here's a quick look at the brackets too!

Despite the event happening before the nerf goes live, Deck Wars has decided to ban Leeroy and Buzzard outright. This is the first time a move like this has been done by an organizer.

I like it. Then again, I hate Hunter so my bias is spilling out a bit.

RIP Lifecoach+ Show Spoiler +Said that he would play Buzzard and Leeroy regardless of this statement. Artificially favors those who practiced decks without Leeroy and Buzzard if implemented. There are situations in which a 5 mana Leeroy (more likely) and Buzzard (less likely) will still win the game; the ban completely precludes the possibility of needing to play around these cards.

So the tournament will be a mix of control warrior, druid variations, priests and zoo. Sounds better than full retard hunter mirrors + zoo.
|
Last time I have seen hunters mirrors evrywhere it was in DH Bucarest long time ago. Since than veto took miracles and hunters out of many tournaments.

I don't like the decision. It doesn't make sense to me.

I don't get the logic behind it.

I don't actually mind playing against op decks, but I get tired of playing vs it after a couple weeks. Plus maybe a class that I like will be the best deck now :D

i'm okay with this but probably just because i dislike all decks that run either of those cards. except Handlock i guess.
but even though i personally like it, i don't get the reasoning behind this anymore than i get the reasoning behind the actual nerfs themselves.

Maybe this will encourage coming into the tournamnet with other decks that can be interesting. Normally people will bring a hunter and it will get banned. So it's like you bring only 3 decks to the table( if they play 4 total). With those 2 cards out of the picture people will not be coming with hunter but something else. Maybe zoo, maybe secret mage or handlock. Or even something like demonlock or Kel'Thuzad crazy combo decks.

By the time it's aired/streamed, it will look stupid and people will laugh at silly Buzzards and Leeroys. They want to play in meta that's closer to what it will be after the official nerf and they will achieve that fairly well, because especially in the beginning these two cards will probably outright become less used, until people re-figure them out.
