So, before we get 6.50 what do you think are the best hero combos for Scourge and Sentinel? I did some testing with my friends and pretty sick combo with scourge would be: Lich Shadow Fiend Magnataur Tidehunter Pitlord
It's quite astounding what happens when you do it like: Tide ulti -> magna ulti -> pitlord pit+rain+explosions -> lich ulti -> sf ulti Horrendous damage and enemies can't really do much about it, definitely can't run away.
We didn't manage to come up with similarily good sent lineup though Any ideas?
speaking of Pit Lord, how come people dont use his ult more to gank? doesnt seem hard, just have an allied hero or 2 stand next to pitlord and select a lane where your creeps are nearby his hero..
also doing some theorycrafting, seems like Expulsion (an ability many forego it seems) would be kind of decent with ES's ult
Is 6.50 supposed to have big changes? I've been bored with dota for a while and will only get back into it if there's a bunch of new heroes / items to try out

Mass AoE is owned at lanes now. 1-1.5 years ago, It was all about area damage and own but now, at competitive play you need good lane controllers and gankers, this team will owned and with mass BKB's you can't do nothing.
There's no dream hero combo atm, everything depends on your teammate's style and choice to control your lane good.
Pitlord and Tide are trash. And even lich is only used only in anti-specific hero situations. I do believe AoE play could work well at low levels (CAL-O) because people are not good/coordinated enough to effectively slow you down enough.
But as said, you will be punished to no end by a good team.

I'm curious, how do you jungle effectively?
I've tried it with heroes like Naix (the old one) and Axe, but after about level four I fall behind in levels. I don't have a replay so obviously people can't pick out specific mistakes, but some general tips on how to effectively jungle would be good.
I always avoid the higher level neutral creep spots until I'm actually high enough to take them on, so I don't know.
All heroes that have perfect jungling capability with not much more than some Clarities and later on a Bottle (Broodmother does fine with just a Ring of Basilius, no Bottle needed).

learn the basic idea to jungle with your hero (some just attack move like undying, some can easily double or triple pull spawns like furion and beastmaster, etc) learn the jungle pulls
and practice a bit. i had a chart somewhere that showed all the timings. i dunno where it is. if in doubt, pull at ;53. bottom sentinel into lane pull is at ;15 or ;45, lowest level scourge is at ;11 or ;41
respawn zones = if anything is in that area during the respawn time, nothing will spawn. this includes corpses, heros and so on. corpses take 16seconds to decay iirc

What do you mean? IIRC there is a protection if you try playing it in multiplayer, so you have to spoof your name to IceFrog or some tester I didn't have any problems in single player to check out the item changes, so I doubt you would. Also, the hacked versions of Xantan have this protection removed. If the map doesn't start at all, probably the download screwed up and you should just redownload. Once I even had a corrupted download, that actually ran in the game and the map had some strange and widly different textures all over the place, lol.
I'd definitely replace pit lord with sand king or... almost anything else. He's slow and sucks at getting last hit, and his skills aren't very high damage anyways: consider that most stuns will do both the damage and the disable (in a single spell) that two of his skills will manage. And his skill cooltimes aren't even on the low side, either, so in a longer fight you'd get off two skills instead of the one combo that pit lord could do.
btw, those versions of the 6.50 beta are a bit outdated (I think the most recent one that's leaked is Beta version 11 and I'm pretty sure we're on Beta version 14 or 15 now.)
