The_Templar picked terran and Slag Pits. I wonder what his strategy is.
+ Show Spoiler +
Slag Pits, close position, is like the shortest rush distance in the history of SC2.
Both players agree that The_Templar's taste in maps is awful.
Both players scout early. However, as soon as Lorning's probe leaves The_Templar's base, The_Templar places down another barracks.
Lorning is getting a second assimilator. Clearly he is not going 4-gate, especially as he is chronoboosting his nexus.
The_Templar shows everyone that he has a lot of builds by going concussive shells!
A third barracks is placed because The_Templar has a lot of money.
Lorning is not to be outdone, as he has a hidden twilight council.
The_Templar gets into the main.
…and starts focus firing pylons.
Probes are pulled.
Despite being held off, The_Templar has a supply lead, is equal in workers while having MULEs, and more/better units.
However, his troops hide in a nearby closet.
Lorning decides that it's a great time to go on the offensive against concussive shell marauders.
The_Templar goes for another attack before Lorning can get anything going.
The MSC is sniped before it can get off a second photon overcharge.
However, Lorning intelligently warps in some zealots and chases off the bio force for the moment.
It's a short moment.
The_Templar takes a clear lead in both army and economy. Only #TemplarMicro will save Lorning now.
The MSC dies again and the following micro is only a formality before Lorning GG's.
I don't blame Lorning for going blink. Blink is pretty good on this map. However, the strategy that The_Templar was going for should have been obvious. A more aggressive opening was called for here.
The series is tied at 1 game as both players took a quick win with aggressive plays. Will someone please aim for a good game now?

B-b-but he picked Overgrowth to be on the LRSL pool before it was on ladder! Proof

After chronoboosting the nexus instead of research last game, one never knows...

He's even building marauders!

Unfortunately for him, blink plays have not worked in this series. Needs to go DTs.
The_Templar gets into the main.

That warpgate research and stalker both finish.
Probes are pulled.

The MSC is sniped before it can get off a second photon overcharge.
Photon overcharge is good. It even killed two battlecruisers!

It took The_Templar all game to have more APM than Lorning.
