UFC 116 had the iceman vs jim carrey headlining it UFC 131 had JDS vs Carwin UFC 174 had DJ (first ppv headline) vs some dude no one ever heard of
Based on the headliners, its no surprised the gate revenues declined.
Sportsnet decided to go with hockey which is a no brainer for the Canadian market. UFC novelty might be wearing thin, but it'll bounce back if GSP comes back

This makes Canada a country of GSP fans not a country of MMA fans or UFC fans or combat sport fans.
Rory Macdonald and Woodley were both top 5 in their weight class and fought at UFC 174. it was Rory Macdonald's chance to prove his drawing power.
1.1 million gate shows u how disinterested people are in the guy. if u can't draw in your home province.. u can't draw period.
this is the main reason the Rory Mac camp are not kicking up a fuss about being passed over. they know he can't draw flies.
like i said before Canada's only possible equivalent to Las Vegas MIGHT BE Montreal. The UFC is fucking that market right into the ground because Tom Wright does not understand the Quebec market.
He didn't understand the Quebec market when he was CFL commissioner and he still does not understand it now.

Unless Faber decides to take a slot and fight... Did he ever say whether he was against fighting teammates?

At a post-fight press conference, he said it would 'suck', but that he would do it.

Ludwig has his own gym anyways but i guess it would suck for their training partners, where do they go lol

Looks like Faber isn't going to be taking a shot against Dillashaw anytime soon, and the UFC is just probably going to go with Dillashaw vs Barao again.
Source is here.
My personal opinion, I wish Barao would get one more fight before getting a title shot again, and someone like John Dodson moves back up to bantamweight to fight Dillashaw again. I would love to see new-and-improved Dillashaw fight speed-and-power Dodson again, that'd be an awesome rematch.

Faber can't even get his shit together vs champions that aren't his teammates...so imagine how that would go for him. It would probably be like watching him try to punch his mother. I really think that Fabers best career move is to keep doing what he's doing. Fight on the prelim card, be a huge draw on national TV, and continue to be the biggest marketer of the team alpha male brand in that way. Dillashaw and Barao might be the top dogs, but Faber is still the face that you need to put out there in the spotlight in winnable, but fun/competitive fights. Also, you can kind of use him as a reserve...if any of your top contenders go out you have Faber chomping at the bit just to remind everyone "yo, i'm still here and I can still take these top guys." In my opinion anyway, that's how I'd keep using him

Barao looked bad in his las fight, i dont think he can take that belt back I would love to see TJ Dillashaw vs Frankie Edgar, since Conor is fighting Aldo for the belt after Siver bout.
PS: Edgar already said he could make 135

This probably might have some meaning in GSP's hey-day as champion. I'm not sure it means anything now.
UFC changed networks from SportsNet to TSN/RDS in Canada. http://www.ufc.com/news/TSN-RDS-and-Fight-Network-UFC
it'll be interesting to see if TSN/RDS puts forth the resources to provide better french language coverage of the UFC in Quebec.
SportsNet never had anything like RDS within Quebec.
it'll also be interesting to see if its too little, too late.
it's kind of eery, i whined about this 3 days ago... ask and yee shall receive.
one thing that sucks about this so far is that you'll have to get "The Fight Network" channel to get full coverage in English that u used to just get from Sportsnet alone.
